Show of hands the people who were excited when.....

It was getting too deep into the recruiting season, it seemed Hart was flying around with hat in hand almost begging somebody to take the job, and when it was CBJ I was more relieved than excited. I was excited when he seemed excited.

That's the dumbest stance I've ever heard. So butch beat Spurrier twice. By that logic you'd rather have Butch than Spurrier?
You think a good coach should prevail over a bad one regardless of talent?

And muschamp is 3-0 against butch.

Sounds like you need to do some fact-finding about Butch in terms of how he treated Cincy.

Column: Butch Jones commitment to Cincy was pretense

That's nothing more than a butt hurt article. I don't get people that criticize others for bettering themselves. I'm sure Butch did love Cincinnatti. I'm sure he worked his tail off for the university. But why should that mean he can't improve on what he has. I love where I work. I love where I live. But I put a resume in recently for a position in another state because I feel like it would challenge me and provide a better opportunity for me and my family.
Saying that butch didn't love Cinci because he looked for other challenges is juvenile.

I didn't know who he was, like many people in here I had to google him.

For his resume and where he's been he's done a decent job rebuilding TN. We couldn't even get to a bowl game for years and now we're doing it regularly and have won 9 games a year the last 2 years. Is he the one to get us to a Natty? That's yet to be seen. I'm not to the point of kicking him out the door just yet. 2017 may prove to be an enlightening year.

Why can't we all just ^this?

Not excited knowing he was at least our fourth choice, but was relieved someone who had been at the top of a crap conference wanted the job. He at least had more guts than Whittingham or Petersen.

I believe we've topped out with him. Not beating a bad Gamecock or Vandy team with important stuff on the line should have been a wakeup call for everyone. I see though, that it was not.

I was very excited and extremely proud that this fine, upstanding man is the head coach of the University of Tennessee football team!
Don't be a NegaVol. Support your coach 100 percent! :dance2:

I for one am happy that Butch Jones is our coach. He has brought a sense of stability to our football team. I want to keep Butch around for another 3 years at least. Next year will be tough because we have a new quarterback coming in. I am sure Butch will hire an offensive coordinator that everyone will not agree with but him a chance. Shoop needed a year for his system to be put in place. Every year our team has been improving.

I was embarrassed that Butch Jones was the only one that wanted the job of Head Coach at Tennessee, still am for that matter.

It was depressing when UT announced that they had hired the coach from Cincinnati, very depressing:good!:

There is NOTHING to be embarrassed about. UC is a wonderful university, ranked second only to UT! I hope we hire their AD so we can have a trifecta of Bearcats on the hill - Bohn, Davenport, and our wonderful head coach and former field general of the UC Bearcats - Butch Jones!:dance2:

Had to Google him, then was physically ill and emotionally drained for a few days over the huge letdown.
