Shout out to Tillman, who has totaled 515 of his 725 yards receiving just in the last 4 games, all 4 against ranked opponents (2 on the road). This includes 200 yards against the UGA defense, which is the best D I’ve seen in the last 10-15 years.

Does he stay for his senior year? Has NFL height and weight.

I’m not sure he has NFL speed, but I’m also not sure how much that can be helped.

Eh, Tillman is faster than Jennings. Probably high 4.5’s. Maybe a half step slower than Palmer and Callaway, but I think he adjusts and high points the ball well in the air like they do, and is also pretty physical.

I see him as a late round pick at this point, with the ability to jump to the mid rounds with a good combine.

After you sign a NFL contract and make a team, you never get timed in the 40 again. Jarvis Landry’s best at the Underwear Olympics was 4.77. Doubt he’s faster after 8 pretty damn good seasons. “NFL speed” is arbitrary.

I think he and Hooker could benefit from coming back for one more season.

The kid is a player and fun to watch. I could see another yr helping to increase his positioning in the draft but I don't think there is any doubt that he can play in the NFL when he feels ready to jump.

That sounds about right. I’ve said before that if he can increase his speed by a half step, he becomes elite. Because those other skills you mentioned aren’t ordinary.

I recall seeing Tillman get behind the defense multiple times. Also, it’s not necessarily about straight line speed. Tillman is a prototypical NFL receiver that high points the ball and holds onto it. He will be playing on Sunday’s at some point.

Definitely. And he seems to be a great route runner (which is why he’s getting open deep). But I’m considering what NFL scouts are looking for. Increasing his speed would put him much higher in the draft.

He should definitely play on Sundays. Just a matter of whether that’s in 22 or 23 and how high he is drafted.

Yeah he’s been wide open deep multiple times every game it seems. He’s got enough speed and agility to get open, but his real NFL trait is his physicality and ability to moss db’s.

I hope Tillman comes back. If not, we lose our top 3 WRs with only Hyatt returning who got decent run.

In fact, I had a coach say about the same thing, he also said the first 10 yards are the most important. He also qualified that by saying having a fast first step with a quick twitch and knowing why you are running your pattern and what you're trying to make the D do or not do is important. He said he never understood the 40 thing, except for raw data on a player and he figured the 10 yard dash times would be hard to disseminate time-wise more than the 40's.

Unless he wows at pro day or the combine, I don't see him getting drafted earlier than the 4th.

With the Payton and Velus leaving, he would surely be the featured WR. If he can continue onto a solid SR campaign then I could see him getting into that 2-4 range.

I think Tillman and Hooker would both improve their draft position by coming back for another season.

Hooker needs to improve his pocket awareness and reading defenses. Tillman can show he can learn more routes on the tree and refine his route running.

That being said, I wouldnt blame either of them for taking a shot at the pros if the feedback is positive on both getting drafted this year.

Hooker's below average coverage read leads to too many sacks. It is his real glaring weakness. He needs to work on this offseason in the film room.
Tillman needs to add elusiveness to his toolbox. It would add a big new dimension to his game and make him a day one draft pick next year.

Would probably put us at top of some portal guys lists. Payton helped us there for sure.

Yea one would think we would be positioned very well for some good portal WRs. Maybe the young guys step up as well.
