No, when they upset us those times we earned it so to speak. Plus they got Chief! He is a VFL under that LSU clothing.

Pretty sure Gen. Neyland would roll over in his grave if he ever heard a UT fan say that they'd cheer for Alabama over anybody.
Buck Fama! Geaux Tigers!
(secretly I love Les Miles)

As much as I hate to say it, I'll be pulling for Bama. Speaking from personal experience, LSU fans are the worst bunch people I have ever encountered in my life. If it were up to me I'd sell that entire state back to France.

3rd Sat in Oct - The teams first met in 1901 and at the end of the game the score was tied, and fights broke out as two thousand fans stormed the field at Tuscaloosa. Kinda sad I missed that one by 76 yrs. That being said, there is no deeper level of hate.

No. The less NC's Bama has the better. UT plays Bama every year, so if they are better then they also continue to recruit better. That's a bad thing for the Vols.

I love to hate Bama

I only like to hate LSU, despite the facts that they embarrassed us the last few games, and in a sick way I really want to love to hate Les Mile's ability to voodoo-win games they have no right to.

On top of that, Bama isn't just our oldest decent rivalry, but they were the last decent team in the SEC it was safe to go on a road game to- it took Tuscalossa longer to develop the critical mass of obnoxious kids as the rest (think Florida, or for that matter LSU).

I'm torn, but I've got to go with Bama. They're old respected enemies, and, deep down, I just don't want anybody else to beat them until we get a chance to kick their ass first.

I understand your point OP. Bama will always be our largest rival but the 2001 game really sticks with me. I loath that program because I can never forget that game, it will stick with me forever.

Why in the hell would anybody root against LSU in this instance? LSU succeeding on a nat'l level means it gets harder for Bama and Florida.
