Should Worley have started vs UK instead of Bray?

Bray was coming off a broke thumb and rumored to be strep throat. Did the coaches staff make another bad personnel decision starting Bray? Hindsight being 20/20 the answer is yes, but should they have made that decision before the game? Why start a player with strep throat? UK was not that good, would Worley have been better? Even Worley was able to complete about 50% of his passes which is better then Bray did today.

Bray completed 39% of his passes vs UK. He was completing 63% for the year.
He should have never been out there. I think it was another mistake by the coaching staff. Worley was completing 55% of his passes on the year.

Starting Bray was likely the best decision unless he was physically unable to play. The disaster was not recognizing, or at least acting on, the fact that he was "lethargic", slow, inaccurate, locking on receivers about as bad as Simms ever did, and exuded a serious and tangible lack of regard for the outcome of the game. The staff should have had Worley (or Simms) ready to go at the start of the second half, and when we came out with yet another nothing of a possession, Bray should have been pulled. That's not hindsight, that's what me and my fellow sufferers were calling for in real time. Bray did not have it today and wasn't really even close, the competition was inferior, and we needed a spark. That's what backups are for, and instead we stood in the headlights and waited for the train to hit us. It did.

If given the choice, you would have made the exact same decision. It's pretty easy to analyze completion percentages after the game has been played.

You have had strep throat before right?
Could you imagine playing a 2 hour football game with it, much less performing well? I couldn't.

DD has to learn and grow as well....a QB change in the 3rd qtr for 1-2 series to see if that changed things would have been a good thing.

I've honestly been there and done that... and played better than I normally did for whatever reason lol. Then again, that was high school and nothing compared to what these guys go through.

If Bray had a 101 degree fever, as has been stated else where,on monday and tuesday who takes the first team reps? Shouldn't Worley or Simms have been up to date on the game plan? If they knew he was sick, so sick, why wouldn't they lean on the run game more, practice like "hey boys we're gonna run the ball to win the game."

We got beat by a team with a WR playing QB and he averaged 6 YPC. Unreal.

I have questions about Tyler Bray going forward next season. He has a great deal of growing up to do, IMO. Worley is the younger player, but it would not suprise me if he was a more mature person than Bray.

But he has been missing guys by yards for two weeks and we knew it. The picks have been about accuracy rather than decision making and that's not Bray's norm. He shouldn't have been out there.

I'm not questioning that. I'm not sure however that a 50% Bray doesn't give us a better chance of winning than our other options. Sad statement, no doubt.

I don't think it does. Granted, our dumbass gameplans weren't helping either.

Don't be an idiot. UKs defense is MTSU. A sick and inaccurate Bray is a disaster. Worley could have beaten that.

For the record, I'm not saying that an in game adjustment wasn't warranted. I'm simply saying that based on what we've all seen this year, anyone that says they wouldn't have started Bray is full of crap. I'm not defending that **** show on the field today.

I didn't mind Bray starting. He's the best QB and gives us the best chance to win. My problem was with keeping Bray in the game, especially after starting the second half the way he did.

Yeah but then he threw those long passes to Neal. I think that's what kept him in the game. IIRC, Dooley said he debated taking him out if he played poorly in the second half, but then connected with Neal for that TD.

georgia had a tough time putting 19 points on them. not they are that great but at least they have a qb that can throw more than just 2 yard screens like worley. :eek:k: dumbass

So I'm a dumbass, but you just wrote something that I, a reasonably well read person, can't freaking decipher. I know you'll have to look it up, but give irony a swing.
