Should we recruit this kicker?

Yes we should! Without a doubt! That kid has a sledgehammer for a leg! Loves the pressure and never misses on extra points or field goals. Gets tremendous lift on the ball. # 60 on the ESPN list but he was a late bloomer. Always a very straight kicker, he has added tremendous distance over the last 3-4 months. He may be juicing. He, and his little brother Jackson, would really like an official visit on Saturday to see the Vols wax the Commodes.

Here are the results from a direct kicking competion (The Southern Showcase) for all the best Class of '12 kickers in the south. Scroll down to the field goals made section. As you can see, Chris Harris made 9 of 10, George Bulluck made 6 of 10 and Ben Ogle made 3 of 10. Harris is the best in TN!!!

I...whoops, I mean "Jackson"...would really like a redhead as an escort please. Something from the smokin' hot sophomore collection would be mighty nice!

Don't know...the one shown below isn't the sharpest tool in the shed...if you know what I mean

Hey, we played you guys in the finals last year in Cookeville. By the way, congrats on winning the TSSAA Golf State Championships for the second straight year. What is the name of that big lineman you guys had last year? I think it was Joe something? How is he doing at Vandy?

Hope you pound Beech on Friday night!

And right on cue, here is Mister Shank-a-Potimas' dad to spoil the party....busted!

You can troll all day long for your kid but I will tell you this, UT has a committed kicker and that will not change no matter how much you cut and paste the same drivel from thread to thread.

I will never get caught up in kicker videos again. Palardy looked like Morten Andersen in the high school videos.

I remember once upon a time some guy from tiny Bristol, Virginia walked on to the team as a kicker. He wasn't really recruited out of high school and the only reason he went to TN was because he truly loved the place. Turns out he was one of the best we've had in a long, long time, IMO. Dang, I'd love to have CDD give another "Alex Walls" a chance.

Different tee in HS football than in college. It makes a difference. My question is what the heck with the stands. Our local HS games have packed stands. Even on away games our teams stand is full. Usually not even enough seats for all that travel. lots stand on fenceline. that is sad looking.

2nd string center as a true freshman right now. Doing well.

But yeah, wilhoit is the man... we need a kicker like him again.

The first two kicks on the video are from an Oct 28th game at Franklin County. It was 44 degrees at game time and a light rain. If you look closely, you can see that the referee is wearing gloves. And on the second kick, you can see an umbrella in the stands (lower right corner). You had to be a true fan to be at that game.

Going into the game, Columbia had already won the district and had a 8-1 record. It was the last game for a terrible Franklin County team. The score was 49-0 Columbia at halftime. Thank goodness for the mercy rule in TSSAA. The clock ran non-stop in the second half and the Franklin County starters played the Columbia cheerleaders to a 7-7 tie.

That was what was amazing about this kid's leg strength. He was crunching the ball through the endzone on the fly. And he was kicking out of a bunch of slop. The field was soaked from two days of rain, it was cold, wet and miserable.

You can watch a lot of those high school kickers videos and you will see the return man at least backing up a few steps to catch the ball in the endzone. With this kid, it is like Albert Pujols cranking a 500 foot home run and the center fielder never even makes a move toward the fence. It is a no-doubter. Watch the returners in the video. They don't even back up...just stand there and watch it sail over their heads.

By the way, that first kick on the video hits the cross bar on the fly and that's why the ball is ricocheting back.

Ben Ogle from Greeneville also played at Franklin County this year. It was a similar blowout game. Ben is also a very good kicker. In that game, Ben kicked off 8 times and put all 8 into the end zone. But they all came down 3-6 yards into the end zone. Actually one was right at the goal line, because the returner came out running with it and the referee blew it dead.

Excellent! He was really good. Columbia also played Knox Catholic with Kerbyson who signed with UT. We thought the guy was Hendersonville was the better player. I am glad to hear that he is doing.
