Should we do a tribute to Spurrier somehow? (Vs. USCe Nov. 7)

Should we have a tribute to Spurrier for USCe game?

YES. I don't think he will be in attendance, but we can send him a nice framed print of VFL34 running thru the swamp that fateful December day that we ran him out of the swamp. Maybe TS can even autograph it for him.

Who are the 37 people that think we should do a tribute to him?

Really? You do realize he never coached here, and caused us nothing but grief. SOS can go screw himself.

Honor Spurrier? NO

A tribute to Spurrier? Heck yes. He's a Tennessee native that grew up orange and white. It wasn't his fault that UT was still running the single wing when he was a quarterback coming out of high school. Former UT player, Ray Graves, recruited him to UF. I know him personally and can tell you all that he is a top self human being. He turned college programs at Duke, UF, and USC from historical losers to winners. He did it the right way.

He is a member of the TENNESSEE state hall of fame. He is worthy of a tribute. Somebody suggested tossing 102,000 visors at half time. I can tell you that he would love that!

Spurrier won't even be here. He'll probably be down in Florida playing golf and drinking beer. He just quit. He quit on the university. He quit on the fans. And most importantly, he quit on his players. He didn't have the courage to even finish out the year. Spurrier loves to win and rub everybody's nose in it but when he loses he cuts tail and runs. That should tell you all that you need to know about the old ball sack.

Disclaimer: If there is a legitimate health reason behind his abrupt resignation, disregard the above statement.

Bloody ****ing hell...this may be one of the best weekends of my life. My Vols beat Georgia, Spurrier retires, Florida QB is caught gaming the system and I just won $1350 playing the tables in Vegas.

Of course with my luck my house will probably burn down and my dog will die...

Edited because my spelling sucks when drinking Scotch...

It's 5 o'clock somewhere.

Funny that both USCe and USCw lost their head coaches on the same day, mid-season. :good!:

"Peyton Manning came back to Tennessee for his senior year because he wanted to be first three-time MVP of the Citrus Bowl."

"You can't spell Citrus without UT"

Noooooooooooooo.

On a sort of unrelated note, I'm very happy that he has to end his career on a 2 game losing streak to UT. That will bother him to the grave.

The thought of a third straight loss to us may have played into his decision to retire, effective immediately.

Which brings up a point: if Spurrier has retired by the time we play them, seems this poll is a bit meaningless.
