Should we be worried?

If it can be proven that coach Reeves did tell Orange Pride members to target specific recruits then this could get ugly. Before, coaches were saying they had nothing to do with it and that Orange Pride acted on their on.

They do have proof reaves did that. But he is saying no. why would we get punished if reaves and kiffin lie? They are no longer here. It should get ugly for reaves and kiffin and not us.IMO

I agree with you but this is the NCAA and we're Tennessee.

Edit: We may be seen as benefiting from it since we signed Corey Miller.

I don't think I've seen this proof so I'd love a link.

And UT will get punished because they were employees of this school at the time.

I suppose you would be ok with the NCAA dropping any punishment for USC since the offending coaches are no longer there?

The name of the person who failed to deal with this (and or the Pearl issue) appropriately still draws a check from UT. The reason UT is being held accountable is not complicated. We hired them--and both would be employed at UT had one not left voluntarily and under no pressure from the UT AD.

Yep. We're going to get hit hard IMHO. I don't see how we will not. Too many incidents have happened too close together.

In the long-run, it will help since nobody with the authority to do so in Knoxville knows how to manage its brand. This bunch would have taken the fizz out of Coke before Pepsi ever got started.

Moreover, those who compare Hamilton to a CEO have no clue what a real CEO does. He'd screw up running a lemonade stand on his daughter's birthday by getting her mom to donate and then spending the money on artwork for the stand instead of buying the lemons she needed.

I've heard something like that too...but not from any source with credability.Last I heard out of Tennessee is we haven't even received a leter yet from the ncaa stating what they are investigating....let alone any charges.

Yeah... I don't think anyone at UT has even acknowledged there is a problem. Ironically, that is the problem.

Id hate losing scholarships but thats way better then a post season ban. Everyone still goes on about never getting to 85 scholarships but going off the roster currently on UTsports.com (not counting EEs) we have 58 scholarship players (didnt count Bartholomew or some SRs to be cause I wasnt sure). If we add 26 from this class we are at 84. Possible defectors...Meline, Pope, Wilks, maybe one more leaves us at 80 and only 11 scholarship seniors for next year. We'd be at 69 and with another full class next year up to 94. The thing is because we were so short all the freshmen coming in are getting to play and will probably stay. Usually guys leave because they are fed the you'll get a chance line and then show up and see 4 guys in front of them. Not really a problem here right now. We'll be at 85 next year.

A ban on post season would hurt recruiting, but I am not nearly concerned about penalties for the FB program as I am BB.

What actions did the AD take to make that happen outside signing the contract with a minimal buyout which facilitated it?

Nothing. But after what he did to Bruce I'd say there would've been stiff and unprecedented actions taken.

I can guarentee you that kiffin wouldn't be staying here with what Bruce was hit with.

No NCAA investigator will find any evidence to support that conclusion. Instead, they'll find evidence that UT went light on Pearl and got lucky that CLK left on his own.

Don't over-complicate reality. Solutions are simple: acknowledge wrongdoing and take appropriate actions. You said yourself that UT hasn't even acknowledge wrongdoings for the Orange Pride--an organization with far more tenure than CLK's.

We are culpable. That is reality. The key is how we deal with it. Playing ignorant is a very, very bad strategy.

Did you not know we dissolved the Orange Pride program as soon as this stuff came out?

I'd say that's acknowledgement.

Yea the bowl ban and loss of schollys really hurt USC this year. They only got the #6 signing class.

NCAA might sock it to Kiffin + Reaves. Since Slive really can't stand the guy he might exert a little pressure on the NCAA to make the pentalties stick to the coach and only a little hand-slap for UT since UT is trying to clean up the mess post Kiffin.
