Should Watson start?

It's elementary!

More touches....the rest will take care iof itself for Watson. He is the only back I have seen hit the holes head on with intentions.

I actually thought DY started running with more authority as the game went on and was most impressed with him overall. Although Q looks like he will be a good one as well.

I like how he hits the hole and uses his speed but the other guys would look better at that point as well. Don't start but would play him more and give him the same touches they are giving to DY now. IMO, he is better than young.

Guys, come on. It was Georgia St. He is young, inexperienced, and has NOT seen an SEC line yet. One game doesn't take away from whatever Lane and Neal have done through the offseason and camp time. I'm not saying they are better or even the best fit, but for the purposes of SEC play, we have to go with the guys who know what to expect and give us the best chance to win.

Remember the basics people...

In order to be a starting RB they must know the playbook AND they MUST be a good blocking RB especially in a O that's best known as a passing team like we are.

Just because a kid can run pretty well does NOT mean he can block well and protect Bray on so many passing plays.

He seems to be a good, tough, fast runner but give him some more touches and another year to add 15 to 20 pounds of muscle so he's better able to take the SEC type hits and punishment that our RB's have to be prepared to take.

After he's learned to also be a better blocker to keep Bray safe we just might see more of him as the season goes along.

I would NEVER want to risk losing Bray for 1 additional yard per carry on running plays.

VFL...GBO!!!

Just said I would like to see more touches and would like those to come from DY and not lane or neal. Don't need to know the whole playbook for a few touches and coaches have said Q has done very well in practice. Dude accelerates very well. Fulmer never wanted Jamal to play as frost for same reason. Good thing for Georgia that dad dooley did not feel that way with Walker.

Whether or not he starts is pretty meaningless. If he comes in on the second or third series against FU's number 1 defense, that's fine. I really would like to see what the kid can do though, he can accelerate, and we haven't seen THAT for awhile.

He gained 3.9 yds per carry against an FCS school so No. However, he does seem to hit the hole quick and run hard. He's got some speed. Hope to see him get more touches.
