Should Trey Smith sit out the year?

None of this is any business of anyone other that Trey, his family and his doctor. No one on this board should worry or offer advice. If he plays, all the better. If he decides not to, more power to him. He has already done more for the team than several others in the past combined. He has definitely risked far more than his fair share for this fan base.

Disagree. There were questions that brought him back.
A promise to his mother that he would get his degree is what brought him back. He has stated multiple times that he is going to live up to his promise that he made to his mother that education was most important for him to get!!!!!!

Easily fulfilled promise even if he’d gone pro. Not saying it didn’t add in, but if the draft advisory board had given him a first or second round grade, I think he would have declared and finished up his degree in the offseason like countless other athletes.

Covid causes microvascular (and macro) clotting issues. Although he’s more likely to get it from other students if he hasn’t had it by football season he definitely should sit out. He’s getting drafted as it is. No reason to risk death.

You’re on the wrong message board.

With having limited insight on his condition, and how covid would play in to that....I have no opinion other than he and his Doctors know what's best, we have NO idea.

I say he absolutely should. He clearly has a pre-existing condition with the blood clots in his lungs. He shouldn't risk his future absent an effective vaccine. No one doubts he loves the Orange. He's already proven that on multiple occasions. I'm just sorry I won't get to see him roughing up the Georgia DL one more time.

Would be interested in what VN thinks.

You’re assuming things will be different a year from now. Idk if there’s enough evidence for that right now. We could very easily have 2 maybe even 3 odd football seasons

Trey is man. I'll give him the opportunity to decide what is best for him, all by himself.

You are all wrong. We internet nimrods know exactly what is best for Trey Smith and if he plays this year he hates everyone and wants us all to get coronavirus, doubly so if he plays without a mask.

Tough spot for Trey.

If he’s my son, no way I want him playing. I don’t care how much money is on the line

If I’m a NFL GM, no way I’m using a draft pick and guaranteed money on a player who’s shown he’ll sit out for health concerns. Especially if Covid doesn’t go anywhere

The only thing you should be interested in is what an actual doctor thinks.

Let me ask you this if you dont want him playing.

Do you want him seeing any friends of his or teammates?

How would you feel if he has been hanging out with people for months now?

How would playing be any different than hanging out with people over the course of a season?

I really hope one day when College Football has a real position of leadership like a commissioner or a leadership council Trey will agree to become an ambassador for the college game. His story is one that should be told to remind not only potential players how great football can be, but others that are putting down the game. College sports are facing a very crucial time right now and people like Trey need to have their stories told.

As far as Trey playing, I think he needs to make the best decision for his future and family. I’m sure there is no football player under more of a microscope on campus than Trey.

Sit. Nothing else makes sense at this time.

Nah, just felt like expressing my opinion in a rant. I am basically sick of SAHRS-CoV-2 conversations in general.
Expressing’s fine. Issuing directives like “no one should worry or offer advice” falls on deaf ears. We do that here.

And in some cases, common sense and decency are completely ignored. I have seen some pretty low brow comments on this board over the last several weeks. Even to the point of making jokes and puns at the expense of a young woman who got her head busted open by a pathetic excuse of a man. As for the "advice" that is offered to Trey by this bunch is completely ignored by him and as useful as a screen door in a submarine.
