With the SEC never losing a single BCS championship game should the SEC champ have an automatic bid to the NCG until we finally lose one?

Your thoughts.

Nope - I can think of several that didn't deserve a shot at a national title.

But they won and thats all that matters.

It is, but the jacked up beauty contest that put them there is still garbage. A line win over an inferior team doesn't justify the means nor does it validate the conference, as is being implied here.

True but they still deserved it when no one else could win those years.

They should drop the current NC game, use the four BCS games (Orange, Fiesta, Sugar and Rose) as the first round of an 8 team playoff and rotate each year who gets the second round games among same BCS bowls and also rotate NC game. All other bowl games stay the same.

That would eliminate the ability for any conference to have two teams make a playoff. That would put UConn into the playoff, but leave LSU or Arkansas out of it last year, when they are heads and shoulders above UConn.

No matter how much sense it makes, there will never ever be a playoff. NEVER. EVER.

As far as I'm concerned...

The SECCG...IS the NCG....

and Ohio State wasn't? At least UF and LSU had to play more than one loseable game a year, plus the SEC championship game.

The question was about auto bids, not relative strength of other representatives.
