I'm not saying the DOJ is corrupt, though some prosecuters may be. I stated that it lends credence to that narrative. Frankly, it must destroy you to admit that what you perceive as a anti-Trump .org not going balls deep on Gaetz. Your mind must be sizzling on how to respond to that. What you're experiencing is called cognitive dissonance.

At the end of the day, you're shilling for a druggy pedo, simply because he supports Trump.

Not really the case.

I spelled it out earlier when the Trumpers were defending his appointment and denying his/this history.

Gaetz had some legitimate businesses/investments with a guy who also ran a child sex/prostitution ring. that same guy was found guilty for child sex/prostitutions, and is currently in jail. Gaetz was brought up in that court case as one of the clients of said ring, including the allegations of it being a minor. he defended by saying any of his payments were for legit business deals and the guy was using him to launder money or that Gaetz was just defrauded. however evidence came out, pictures and some email/text exchanges where Gaetz is very clearly asking for sex, and alluding to minors, and the "witness" who is questionable was actually the victim. Gaetz argued these were just hook ups and the coinciding payments were just coincidences for other business actions that were legit. so he wasn't paying the ring leader FOR SEX; he was just paying the ring leader, while getting the sex for free as a consensual "hook up".

she was deemed unreliable by the Florida AG, who also had some indirect connections with both Gaetz and the guy running the ring. some of the people who donate money to him were on the ring leaders list of business interests. but again "only for legit business". not disputed, but never looked into.

anyway the witness who was deemed unreliable by the AG, was a victim of sex trafficking herself, not disputed. and she was forced, beaten, to go out and "recruit". meaning everything from straight up hiring/paying, to drugging, extortion, and other dirty methods the ring leader forced her to use. this is also not disputed. she had sex with Gaetz as a minor. this is not disputed. That Gaetz knew she was a minor is disputed, but there were those text exchanges from before that make it questionable, at the least, that he didn't know she was a minor.

what was "questionable" and got thrown out is if Gaetz sexual relationship with the girl/victim was one of mutual consent as pseudo business partners, vs if it was straight up statutory rape.

the argument for the dismissal was that she was one of the "ring leaders" simply because she also went out and recruited other women, including minors; and not just a victim. It was a questionable ruling by Gaetz Florida AG budy and just seemed like the swamp protecting the swamp.

what ended up getting the ring leader thrown in jail was the FBI getting involved and tax evasion/fraud. because it sounds like there were previous attempts to jail the POS but those cases just never made it to the courts under that same Florida AG.

that is what got the case brought back up.

Florida AG buried the case. it wasn't until the feds got involved that the actual ring leader, himself went to jail and any cases came out of this.

So it's enough to the DOJ to prosecute 1 but not the other despite the evidence? My argument is that if the evidence was and cut and dry and reliable then the DOJ which has no issue going after Trump loyalist suddenly decided not to charge him. That tells me the some the evidence and witnesses cannot pin this to Gaetz...and being they'd have to try it in Florida where he would possibly get a favorable jury they decided not to...but they could have charged him with sharing child porn photos which the ethics report said she showed member of Congress the pictures/vids..
Which would also tie in a reach for trafficking charges as some of the guest the ringleader flew in were crossing state lines...there is a host of federal DOJ charges regarding child porn etc that could have been level with even a shred of credible evidence..hence imo why the release of the ethics report screams of a smear.

Now do I personally believe he had knowledge or was involve.. probaly most politicians are sick ****s looking for power...how much did he know or was involved in the question...he may had unkkowly had sex with a minor..not like 17 year old don't lie about their ages to access adult venues etc...

I'm not defending him. I'm annoyed with the games the DNC play with releasing info to the public and basically ruining people life in the public eye while ignoring their own people..again Mendez ethics report didn't get released. Why not?? He was charged...does his run to deep to many implications..people need to get back to innocent till PROVEN guilty...

I generally agree. and mentioned that very point earlier in this thread that everything is alleged and nothing proven about Gaetz even with this report.

however, in this particular case, everything appears to be the swamp protecting the swamp. doing their best to make sure he never sees a court room to prove guilt. that's a good way to maintain lack of guilt if you are never tried due to flat out corruption.

I haven't looked into the specifics or generalities of this situation enough to know how this was done vs who investigated what. but it sounded like the fed DOJ was able to use a lot of the evidence and testimony collected by the state of florida when going after the ring leader. it doesn't really sound like they went and fully investigated him for all his crimes, only the few that fall into their purview. If the fed DOJ is basing their case on the Florida case there isn't going to be enough to go after Gaetz by design, whether or not there was even enough to charge or find guilty there. we will never really know.

I also don't think Gaetz's alleged crimes would fall under the federal cases. I haven't seen anyone claiming Gaetz actively participated in sex trafficking anyone across state lines. and statutory rape of a minor doesn't appear to automatically fall into the Federal DOJ's book. so it falls back to the state to bring charges, and they are the ones who acted to protect Gaetz in the first place.

its very circular, and at this point it looks intentional.

I don't know if the child porn accusations have anything directly to do with the Florida case or that particular ring leader. so again it may not have been in the Federal DOJs court to go after Gaetz. or there might not have been a tie between the ring leader and that particular case of child porn, without a connection I don't know what the DOJ should do.

also a politician is going to be protected, regardless of the letter next to their name, more so than a child sex trafficker. so pointing out that only the child sex trafficker went to trial doesn't clear anyone imo.
