Should Simms start over Quinn and Geno

If I was the owner of the Jets I would have never drafted Geno Smith. That being said, with what they got, they might as well play Geno Smith and get him experience since this is a non-playoff year for them and they'll probably be looking for a new head coach next year anyway.

I would almost say yes, but not because I think Simms is better or actually deserves to; I would almost throw him out there so as not to destroy Smith.

Although I agree that I would have never drafted Smith in the first place.

This just in....

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, backup QB Matt Simms "has some real support to play" within the Jets' organization.

"Should Geno (Smith) struggle, worth watching," Schefter reported. Simms is a 24-year-old former undrafted free agent out of Tennessee. He beat out Greg McElroy for the Jets' backup job in August, finishing the preseason with a 74.6 completion rate and 8.1 yards-per-attempt average without a turnover on 59 throws, albeit against deep backups. Smith has been the weak link on a Jets team that has otherwise been better than people expected. If Smith keeps giving the ball to the other team, the Jets' offensive staff may have to seriously contemplate a switch.

That would be quite a story if he ended up starting and especially if he did well; imagine if he went from benched by Dooley to starting NFL QB.

I think Geno will be just fine. They've already met most people's win expectation for the season.
