I think it's time to hang it up and start a new career as either a coach or a sportscaster. I will hate to see him go but age catches up to everyone.

I was driving and not paying close attention to a sports show but this is the gist of what I heard.

Elway knew that Peyton likely had only one more year. He boots Fox and is not trying to retain a couple of stars Peyton is in sync with. The commentator suggested Elway wants to move now, rather than wait a year, and is trying to gently push Peyton out. If this is the case, I doubt Peyton would go to another team for one year, or two, at most. The guy made it sound plausible.

As the competitor that Peyton is I'm sure it's really hard to retire on a low note. -"low note" being debatable by all means-

I watched only the last couple games he played this season and from what little I saw Peyton was the least of the problems that team has.

That being said, should he retire from the NFL I'd like to see him go into coaching. He's a smart guy with great skills and I think he likes to coach. He could start off being a QB coach or easily an OC. I fully believe that at any time later on he could easily get a job at sportscasting but I don't think he's interested quite yet in planting himself in a seat. Truth be told though the man's got enough money he probably could retire today and sit on his couch the rest of his life but does anyone see him doing that?

I think he should hang it up. PM is what I call the best regular season QB of all time. For some reason he just struggles in the playoffs. I'd rather see him retire and start coaching those boys of his!!

I was living in Milwaukee when Atlanta traded Brett Favre to Green Bay, and subsequently became a huge fan of #4. His retirement antics though were as painful as watching my boyhood idol Joe Willy Namath don a LA Rams uniform. Peyton, I love you man but I will only support you for one more season at max. If you retired now, I would be fine with that but please, for the love of God and what is right, do not continue to suit up if you know in your heart that the time has come.

Peyton will do what he feels is best for him- his decision and his decision only. Whatever he chooses, we'll back him 100%!!!

Announced on Denver radio this AM that Adam Gase is going to SF. Then updated shortly thereafter that it may still happen, but contract details are not quite final. Now there's speculation that Gase may be offered the Denver HC job, and would likely accept, which means that Peyton would probably return for another SB run. High stakes drama in Denver.

He needs to retire. I don't want him to be pitied like other QBs have been in the past, like Namath and Unitas. It's time. Hang em up.

I had read that he was pushing the OC for the job and didn't want to learn a new system for 1-2 years.

Denver Broncos: Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak plans to accept the Broncos head coaching job, if offered, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The sides are meeting in Houston today.

Actually, I believe the next coach will be thinking more long-term. Keep Peyton (if he wants to stay) draft the future, and let Peyton bring him along for one to two years. Peyton retires, does ESPN for a while, and HOF first ballot. Takes over for Butch after 12 years and two National Championships and rejuvenates program for next twenty years and four National Championships. I'll just leave it at that. :)

That sounds good, but when Peyton retires he'll be in a press box in the nfl somewhere.

That ship has sailed. He can become a player/owner for the Titans. Financially feasible thing to do plus he has a chance to win any team he plays for even the helpless Titans. Just my opinion but I would not want to live in a "Pothead State". I'm not talking medicinal users.

You can't play in the NFL and have an ownership stake...salary cap thing.
