If these are our 4 choices. At least he had HC experience. Wow

Stupid post OP.

He was fired by Tampa because everybody and their dog literally hated him. Front office, players, fans...dogs...cats...goats...

Oh Oh ..Edit: I forgot sports reporters...

You want a guy who a player said being under him was "like being in Cuba"?????!

screw dat....big time

NO NO NO to Schiano!
We don want no 'Schiano Men' round here!

I’m confused.

We want hc experience.
But we don’t want too much like Les Miles.

We want a defensive minded tough coach. But not Steele, or Tucker. Maybe Venables but he’s probably just trying to get a raise.

We want someone who can develop a quarterback. But not Morris. We don’t want him. We might want Tee but we don’t know what he can or can’t do.

We need to think long term with this hire but we love Lane “never stays in one place” Kiffin.

Just bring back Butch. Lol!

You can all say what ya want, but in the end the OP is probably right. Thought he would have been a terrible hire, not so much compared to our choices now.

I don't want any coach that was sniffing around the Penn St program during that time period.

Worst tragedy in the history of sports.

You should be ashamed for starting this thread...like sitting in the floor of the shower and crying ashamed.

How is tuckers,Steele, venables,Morris experience any better then Schianos?

It's not, really.

I think the name Schiano alone brought down hell fire and brimstone upon you.

But, you ain't wrong. Had Currie tried to hire Mel Tucker, the reaction would have been the same as Schiano.

I get your point. All choices suck, no matter the AD.

The Schiano bashing has about run its course. He could have been a very solid coach for Tennessee if allowed the chance. Compare his resume to the previous 4 Vol coaches (even Phil at the time he was hired) and Greg Schiano comes out way ahead.

Schiano - 68-67 / .503

Butch - 84-54 / .608

Dooley - 32-42 / .438

Kiffin - 45-24 / .652

Those winning percentages don't put Schiano way out ahead. In fact only Dooley has a worst wining percentage than Schiano.

Bad Head Coaching Experience isn't a pro over a coordinator....

Mel Tucker is more than qualified for UT. Would kill it here.

Not sure how you think Tucker would kill it here but then again you are the guy who thinks Randy Shannon was a great head coach so :eek:lol:

Well let's see, Venerables and Morris are both responsible for building Clemson's offense and defense currently. Clemson still runs the same offense Morris implemented. Tucker has a better statistical record in the NFL as a head coach than Schiano. Steele I wont speak to bc I think he's not that great.

Schiano built his entire resume off one impressive year at rutgers and several mediocre ones before and after that.

Neither of them have more experience than GS but it does not mean UT should hire him. Mack Brown has more experience than GS so he should get a call too right? I am not lobbying for anyone but GS would have been a disaster. No other big time program has given Schiano a sniff. Telling right?

Had Schiano not already been on Ohio State's staff when the 2016 WaPo article came out, nobody would have ever even remotely looked in his direction for a job ever again. Knock it off.
