Haven't seen those. For me its more like "there is nothing to this but if for some reason he were to try to use it to get raise, then its a 'don't let the door hit ya'" scenario. Nothing to this. I don't want him to go, and this is a garbage presumption, not even a rumor. If he wanted to bolt for this fictional opportunity, then I don't see why anyone should stand in his way.

Serious question... Why would Butch leave when next year he's going to be competing for an SEC championship with arguably the most talented roster in the SEC east?

Easier conference. Less pressure. He is 4-4 with top 15 talent. I hope he stays.

No No and HELL NO! That sounds like something Hamilton would have done . We shouldn't discuss anything until the season is over or they make jones an offer. Don't give a knee jerk reaction. This is a better job that VT and jones has a lot invested in this. No reason to get all out of whack yet.

0-3 against Alabama and Florida... 1-2 versus Georgia, 1-1 versus Vanderbilt. If Butch is going to shake down TN for even more than the $300,000 or so he's already making every month then I don't care if he does leave.

Surely Butch isn't that foolish. He has a great opportunity in Knoxville. If he doesn't understand that then he can go ahead and leave and pay UT the buyout of his contract.

I'de trade Butch and crew to VT for Bud Foster. Make Bud our DC. Gruden, Fuente for HC. Enlist Manning for QB coach....

I agree he has not proved anything on the field yet . Season is a long way from over. If he wants to play hard ball with us let him go . This job is again a top 10 job with all the young playmakers and the facilities we have. There would be a lot of coaches that would want to come here . What happens if he holds us up for a big raise and chokes next year and only wins 4 games . Then we are stuck with him.

Blacksburg sucks, Virginia Tech is sliding into irrelevance again, we have more money and better facilities, and more and more and more. If he wants to leave, whatever. If he does, we should get Fuente ASAP.

Where do you get the majority of their fans? I've seen it mentioned in one place and that's it.

Would Butch be on the hot seat if he losses to Florida, Alabama, and Texas a&m and misses out on the sec championship game?

If he is afraid he cant get it done in the SEC then let him go . I don't want a coach that doesn't think he can or will have his team playing for an SEC championship.

I don't get the Meat Chicken joke. My employers HQ is outside Lansing and I spend way too much damn time in MI every year and have yet to hear an accent so bad that it sounds like they're pronouncing it Meat Chicken. Bout as funny as UGA, gators, Commodes etc

Posting from Va here...no media outlets in this state have named successors other than Bud Foster and Shane Beamer. Everyone is flabbergasted that he left before the Bristol game bc they thought he himself is the reason the game is actually happening. Foster is a known drunk and doesn't even drive himself to the office and Shane has no head coaching experience what so ever. The donors have no idea how a major coaching search goes. They've had top ranked coaching for years on the cheap comparatively. They are lucky Beamer turned down the Bama job years ago and so is Bama considering they have Saban. They may make a run at Jones but I believe he will far down the list.
