Yeah, man, I know you've apologized already, but please don't ever start a thread like that. My kid is home on break, otherwise I would have been in a panic.

Georgia Sucks! I felt really bad for Nick Chubb when he got hurt on the first play, then this idiot does this to Shy... He'll get what he has coming!

Re: the thread title, I figured it was a metaphor. But it also simultaneously occurred to me that it could be something awful.

I didn't make an assumption either way. I just opened it and read it.

Could the thread title have been better? Sure. Was the title misleading and/or irresponsible? I don't think so.

No big deal, IMO.

Maybe OP could change the title to " Shot's fired at Georgia college football player(but I mean "shot's fired' like he is calling him out not shooting at him all bang bang and stuff. I am sensitive and I don't want my words to hurt you for even the one second it takes to open the thread."

I think the real culprit is FREAK and how long our thread titles on the board can be.

Maybe it was just my generation but when I saw the thread title, a verbal put down was the only thought that crossed my mind. Never once thought about guns.
Everything I've seen on threads about that kind of violence has used the words shooter or shootings etc..

But like I said, may be a generational or region thing.

"Shots fired" is common vernacular on the internet as has already been established several times now.

Some of you are gonna need to put on the grown up pants to play on the world wide web. It's an offensive and challenging place out here. Be extra careful!

Seems some folks are more in touch with their inner drama queen than others. Titles with just player's names don't bother me either though. Maybe my wife's right and I'm too insensitive.

Yeah, the younger generation today seems to be a lot more casual about firing shots.
