Opry Mills rough? You people are living sheltered. Opry side with Dave and Busters and the Theatre is loaded with tourists and full of security. Go over to Scoreboard nearby off McGavock and it puts Hattie B's hot chicken to shame. Go after 10 and Drex will take care of you.

Been a nashville resident for years and let me just tell you, that security is there for a reason. They got tired of how much they ran hickory hollow and rivergate down so they're moving to Opry Mills. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't tennessee sports fan close down there?

Don't do this. Traffic on 24 is terrible and Murfreesboro is not worth making a special trip for

We're staying on N. Thompson near Medical Center DParkway in Murfreesboro.. We are very familiar with 24 and it won't be bad when we leave from our hotel Saturday morning heading to the stadium.. We did this when we got ripped at the Music City bowl... LOL

You are correct about it closing. Not much Tennessee gear there. A great place to go to is Alumni Hall or the sport seasons. Great variety at both of the places. Volunteer Traditions is also a great, but expensive, place to check out.

One thing is for sure, they won't be selling a lot of Vandy gear after losing to Western Kentucky tonight.

Alumni Hall in Rivergate mall. Eight miles north of Nashville off i65 in Madison. One of the best selections of Vol gear around.

Just yelp Rivergate Mall in Madison and it'll give you directions.

If you're staying in Murfreesboro there are a few college apparel stores (one I know is alumni hall) at the avenue and another one on the corner of stones river mall. It's over there adjacent to that cut through road from Thompson that takes you past vision works back to old fort pkwy.

*EDIT* disregard italicized - I think that may be a shoe carnival now.

Yeah, Alumni Hall in the avenues or Sports Seasons a little bit further down right across from the hospital are your best bets in Murfreesboro.

Let us know what you guys decide to get!!

It's not a shop but the flying saucer was pretty cool a few years back when I was there. Beer enthusiasts would enjoy it.
2 or 300 different beers. I left there once wearing a waitress' spaghetti strap Flying Saucer shirt, dont know what happened to the one I walked in with. Great place!

I went to college in Cookeville - highly recommend El Tapatio on Willow if you're into Mexican.

My guess is earlier in the day there will be a decent gathering of Vol fans around the "American Pickers'" Antique Archaeology store over on Clinton St.

I'm also guessing there will be a sizeable caravan of Vols circling the area, unconvinced they're in the right neighborhood!

And you will need to take a left where that old drive-in used to be that they tore down a couple of decades ago.:birgits_giggle:
