Shoop will...

Everyone on here was praising Shoop during the offseason and now, they question his ability to be a DC here? Our fans are bipolar as hell. Which one is it?

Many UT fans put a lot of expectations on Shoop. I was not one of them. I was in a wait and see mode. He has been good, but not the world beater some thought. But, losing guys like Sutton, JRM and DK is enough to skew things drastically. I also think that he will need to get the right players for his kind of scheme. Losing JRM hurts as bad as Sutton.

The point is he was an upgrade. Whether or not he has been great or good, he doesn't use a spy on 4th and 14, and his defense has mostly produced when they have had to.

Upgrade for sure. We usually (with one big exception) get critical stops when we need them. The one exception was more of a CB mistake than a play call problem.
