He said he was pleased with 773 (think he meant 273) but long passes and bad penalties have hurt them in games.

I agree with most of what he has said. But there is no question that the DL has performed better and got more pressure on the QB in the second half than in the first. They dominated the 2nd half against VT and Florida

I am really pleased with the number "7", thats how many points were given up by our D in the 2nd half. Shoop is the man!

I have never seen a D Cord make better halftime adjustments. He feels an offense out then attacks. He uses a rope a dope strategy. He lays back and figures out the opponents tendencies then he wears their a**es out. His play calling is beautiful to watch.

I think it will only get better as he learns his personnel.

His defensive scheme with the type of talent a GOOD Tennessee is capable of recruiting......this defense could be very, very scary in a couple of years.

I haven't seen enough from our offense to start talking about a playoff caliber team just yet, but the defense has showed periods of pure brilliance. And that is ultimately where shiny crystal footballs come from.

When it comes to college football defense, the guy has a beautiful mind.

I couldn't agree more. Kinda wish we would start out as strong. But you can watch the defense clearly adjusting. Our 2nd half numbers are pretty darn good. Wonder where we stand in the country in that regard. Points allowed in the 2nd half. I know in 2 games we only gave up garbage tds.

Unless he is broke and is running behind on his mortgage.. Both jobs are graveyards or coaches

Win or lose being a Power 5 HC is like hitting the lottery...win and you get a better job/raise or lose and they will pay you millions to go away

Yup he will be a HC by the end of 2017

Nope. Some people just know what they're good at.

He's been a DC at Penn State... but never interviewed for any HC positions.

He's not going anywhere anytime soon. He'll still be here 5 years from now

If you read some of the stories about him before the season started, he discusses how he saw a need to rehabilitate himself when he failed as a head coach. It's a pretty significant marker he is laying down he wants to give it another shot and IMO he'll get it. We'd love to keep the guy no doubt, but if he wants to HC again, good jobs opening end of next season he'll be able to pick and choose. Tickled he's not going to LSU fo' sho!!
