Yes. Barnett got mauled in the run game many times. Its a drill made for Smith, Kongbo has made Smith look ridiculous when playing in space.

No, no he didn't. Barnett oftentimes got sucked in last year (unlike the first 2 years, which makes me think it was more a scheme change under Shoop) and didn't set the edge and contain well against the run while trying to get the quarterback, but he never "got mauled in the run game". A defensive end (not a linebacker) with right at 200 tackles including 50+ for loss in 3 seasons is not getting "mauled" by anybody, ever. Not buying that one at all.

Taylor, Kongbo and Kyle have so much more talent than Barnett and Vereen. Our D line should be dominant this year if Tuttle and KMAC are healthy, one of the best if not the best in the conference.

Not sure if serious. Do you agree with him that we could improve at defensive end this year compared to last? Maybe its just me but I think there will be a drop off after losing a special talent like Barnett.
