I pray every day we don't have the Sal Sunseri effect. Shoop is a proven D Coordinator, so i'm sure we will be great. But the Sal nightmares remain

If I remember correctly Sunseri had never been a coordinator, wasn't he primarily a linebacker coach?

Seems like he was either a LB coach or DL coach one of the two. Either way he wasn't ready for a DC position. People went through his defense like diahrrea through a screen door.

Seems like we have always played too passive against the better teams. My opinion is we always played aggressive against teams we knew we were going to beat like North Texas. Hopefully we open up a can on the SEC this year.

Will the pressure be higher on the Vols to BREAK the damn Florida Streak...

or

For Florida to come into Neyland and obtain the longest win streak EVER against the Vols?

This game has long been more between the ears instead of between the numbers...

Let's hope Tennessee works on between the ears as much as between the numbers.

I think we as fans put more emphasis on the streak than the players do. I may be wrong but I don't think the streak gets mentioned. We just need to go out and do our thing. You're spot on saying its a mental thing though. The last two years we have lead the majority of the game and somehow found a way to lose it at the end.

Pretty much no other Florida QB has had an issue with it, not sure why he'd be any different. And if one believes that perhaps Driskell had a problem in 2014 because of how poorly he played, it ultimately wound up making no difference to his freshman backup Harris who made some plays to help win the game.

Here's hoping he does indeed freak out due to the Neyland noise and stinks it up.....and that our team can finally take advantage of it vs Florida.

I stand corrected.....at Illinois State, Illinois Wesleyan and Alabama A&M. Confused because I knew he came to Tennessee from Alabama not as a DC, but only as the linebackers coach.

The pressure will be higher on us. No doubt in my mind. The hype going into the season is going to be insane.

Plus, it's important to have good options in case of injury. I really like Shoop's approach and can't wait to see the defensive progression this year.

We didn't trust some of our back ups either. Our back ups were not sufficient before last year.

Don't like him but being a linebackers coach for Saban is a lot like taking a final with the answer sheet. He's going to tell you how he wants it done.
