Shoop looking at Kongbo in 3-4 set

I just rewatched the 98 Florida game and i feel like thats how our D is going to be this year.

We brought the house all game long and had a linebacker just flying through the line untouched every other play.

Having all these studs on the front the other teams are going to double team to help even when a double team wasnt the play leaving guys running free to the backfield.

All this pressure is going to cause a lot of turnovers. I think it will be a historic year for sacks.

I'm not a huge fan of the 3-4 from our past experiences. However, this is not remotely the same situation.
1. We may have a 3-4 package, he never said as our base defense.
2. Sun seri barely had 4-3 recruits and not the same caliber athletes we have.
3. We are using his as a fit for our athletes
4. Bob Shoop

Very interest. I wouldn't be against going back to a 3-4. The 3-4 that we had a few years ago is definitely no where near the same roster. I think we have the talent to have a deadly 3-4

J Smith DE/LB or Sentiamore
McCullers NT
Mo Couch DE
J Smith- LB
AJ Johnson LB
H Lathers LB

I was super excited about that DEFENSE. For some reason.... even now i think it could be good lol.

Eric Gordon came in at NB.

I say we just lay down 7 DL including 4 DEs and let Kirkland, JRM, Cam and Nigel lay wood to anything that might slip through!

I had forgotten how bad that unit was, Teague and Waggner were horrendous and that d-line got literally no pressure. Coleman and Brewer were way too slow not to mention the lb's couldn't cover a woman in a wheel chair out of the backfield. I believe they are still trying to tackle Trey Burton.

Wagner was a pretty good CB and isnt Coleman starting for the Patriots?

We've got the athletes to run whatever defensive formation we want to run. And with Shoop running the shots opposing teams won't know what to prepare for. I love it!

I seem to recall Waggoner having a bunch of pick-6's that year, maybe it was the year before. Don't recall much else except that it was the worst defense in the history of the SEC.

Yes, I think Stoops is only talking third and long. Dime package type situations. With King Kong in the middle, we can line up three speed rushers and they can race to QB. Add in a mix of blitz pressure from wherever and boom....we got a Del Rio sandwich.

Going to look like these three hurdling over slow O-linemen...

As long as its not 4th and long maybe we have a chance.
