Yeah, this is starting to sound familiar. If he leaves, he probably isn't coming back. From one of the VQ mods:
"I don't know how it's a positive sign if he heads back today without signing anything. He wants to talk to his family about it so we will see what comes of it. I think there probably isn't as much confidence about this happening as there was yesterday. But, I don't think it's dead or anything like that."
Anyone know what VQ is saying on the subject?
So, he's not allowed to go back home and see what the family thinks?

On the flip side, he has already shopped himself around before.
Hard to believe that if he wasn't ready to make a move, he would keep pushing his luck with PSU.
Talented or not, you can only return to that well so many times.
Unless he were a full-on cretin, he would have to leave temporarily.
Should be man enough to tell Franklin face to face.
Should be thoughtful enough to tell his players face to face, give them a chance to ask the inevitable questions.
Should have the family talk in the living room so that the kids feel they were consulted before being dragged across the country again.
It's just the right thing to do, him heading back up to PA one more time.
Franklin gave Shoop his first big break. He may be going get his family to bring them to Knoxville for the announcement on Monday and tell Franklin face to face. If someone has been good to you and helped you they deserve more then a phone call or email.
I just do not think he will be able to turn down this opportunity. Better players, better facilities, and familiar recruiting area.

Spot on.
I believe many posters have a Dooley era hang-over.
UT is no longer in the position of having a breakdown because they can't get a date to the prom.
Of course it may just be less stressful for me. Seems a solid hire so I would like to see it happen.
However, if it happens, I won't be as "omg" giddy. If it doesn't happen, no plans of a meltdown or even worried
Yep - looks like he's playing us for a pay raise like he has other SEC schools in the past.
May be time to start looking at the next best options - Chizik maybe or Hoke (at least these seem to be the other names mentioned most prominently on VQ this morn).
