Some serious froth coming off of those comments. They are in denial about where they are as a program. Reminds me of us after Kiffin bailed. They will get back. They are to much of a traditional power not to. But they best buckle up for a decade of irrelevancy. If any fanbase was more spoiled by coaching stability than we were, it's Penn St.

If the deal wasn't done they wouldn't be eating supper. He would of left immediately after the interview/negotiations. The deal is done guys.

I haven't been a member very long but I've been a board stalker for a long time, and we have had some well regarded posters say it is a done deal with Shoop, even saw JAV on 247 say it is done, I think nothing has been formal because they are finalizing staff changes, once is all agreed on then well BOOM.

I have absolutely no insider information, but you can look throught these boards when the Jancek rumors first came out on New Years Eve and Shoop was mentioned in the very next post.

I think this deal has been done for weeks, at least in principle, and they're working out contract numbers/staff/etc today when he flew down. I don't think any head coach would let an atleast competent guy like Jancek go unless they had someone locked up.

As part of the deal, we are hearing that Cheek is trying to trade Hart to Penn State

I have to admit, I was starting to buy into the whole "Dave Hart is a Bammer who is trying to sabotage UT" garbage. From Tyndall to the LV's fiasco to the sorry shape of both bball teams I was starting to wonder.

But, if this Shoop hire comes to fruition, with all the $$$ involved, imo it will mark a real shift in the way the AD conducts business. Now for a new ladies coach...

Haha, I don't know if that's a good thing any more. Seems like Hart has had a change of heart, no pun intended, when it comes to writing checks when people deserve them. To win championships you're going to have to pay people, and I think Hart might realize that now, especially if this Shoop deal gets done with a salary over 1m.

I have mixed feelings on Hart, he has done some really dumb things here, but he has helped get us back to where we could financially go out and get a guy like Shoop. I guess you could say financially smart, dumb people person

The reason we can spend now is because he was tight for a while.
Not as easy as spending monopoly money, but you wouldn't know that reading VN posts.
