That type of grass doesn't grow in the winter so it wouldn't really matter at this date. IMO, they should sprig it and it will be ready by Sept.

Mostly because they keep doing it every year and the guy taking care of it doesn't know what he's doing.

I was there just this past weekend and when I looked through the gates, it looked like it hadn't been touched since last fall. To be honest, it reminded me of the Woodstock photos from 69'.

So which is it?

The other person who posted may have gotten a better look at the field than me. From what I saw it looked better than I expected but I didn't pay all that much attention. I can honestly say I didn't notice any dead hippies from my view though.

Don't know what their plans are, but they planted a crap load of grass seed when I was on it Friday.

Grass can die in the winter though.

I'm just saying that if the Football team wants a nice playing surface, they should give the grounds crew an entire offseason to do their job and stay off of Shield-Watkins as much as possible.

It's "Shields", not "Shield". Colonel Shields and his family made the donation to build the stadium on that site.

It was used to much. CBJ likes to have practice on the field whereas our previous coaches hardly, if at all, held practice in neyland.

If I were you, rather than ask for pictures, I would drive over there, and have a look for myself. But that is just me.....
