Josh Dobbs

So the other three q.b.'s will sit the bench and wait for Dobbs to graduate, then those three will fight it out in 2017 to be the starter? One will start in 2017, one will back him up and the third will transfer?

Maybe the one that gets beat out, will change positions so he can be on the field.

I remember we had a 4th runningback in the class with Lewis, Henry & Stephens. He saw that he was not going to play at tailback, so he became a linebacker. He started on defense, was drafted by Buffalo and later played for Oakland also. He ended up playing around 7 years in the N.F.L. It worked out well for him.

Don't forget that Kendall is coming in 2016.

I have a feeling that Jennings will wind up playing another position anyway.

Okay, now what? We can red shirt a couple of them, then in 2016, who will start?

I keep seeing people say this, will Dobbs not still be around? He played last year, this year and next so wouldn't he have his 4th year in 2016? Or have I missed something.

Glad to have the kid, along with the other 2 QBs-- but recruiting 3 in one class simply isn't ideal. It increases the odds of getting a good one, but it means /at least/ one is certain to want to transfer.

The cream will rise to the top. Nothing wrong with having strong competition at each position, including QB. Besides that, look at Ohio State. They're going to the national championship game with their 3rd string qb.

It's not a bad idea in recruiting multiple QBs. Take TCU and Oregon for example.....they recruit athletes that can handle the ball and make them better position players. Not all these guys are SEC quality at the QB position, but they are athletes and can play WR, DB, you name it.

LOL. Had to wait until Jennings and Dormandy went to class before announcing. Wait, classes haven't started. Oops!

They both knew he was probably coming before they enrolled.

They'd have to have their head in the sand not to have known. Anyway, I remember TN recruiting 5 QB's back in the day when I was a Freshman. One rose to the top (Alan Cockerel) and the rest just went into the woodwork. Players didn't transfer as much back then. Point is, we need outstanding QB play. And we need to get a lot on campus. I'm thinking Peterman is out for sure. Hope not, as he is a good guy and we can use him if he could ever get his head on straight when he straps it up.

While we're on subject, can someone explain how these numbers for our class work out, how can we be in the runnings for more players (Newsome or Love for instance), and what does this do to our recruiting capabilities in 2016?

Jones may have just set a new bar for recruiting. He now has three 4*, high quality QB's in this class... playing behind a Jr.

Saban now has a real challenger for the title of Best Recruiter.

This is incredible.

I get a feeling one of the QB's may transfer!! 4 QBs! That's some intense competition? 3 from the same class? What do you guys think! I may be completely wrong!!

Two will likely RS. One of those two will likely transfer at some point. They'll all get their shot and UT will benefit from "survival" of the fittest.
