Sheriron Jones Back at UT (merged)

I hope that he's interested in being a WR, DB, or on board as a role playing backup at QB because he's really damaged his chances of winning the job of starting QB in 2017 and beyond.

He should have been in a good position to compete with Dormady for the 2016 backup to Dobbs. Now I wouldn't be surprised to see the new guy NOT redshirt and SJ be the 4th option or even 5th with Jennings staying involved.

Maybe he'll recover. I kind of thought that he could have beaten out Dormady and could have played a lot if anybody ahead of him gets injured. I thought that Butch's offense fit him well.

Welcome back. I hope that he stays positive and contributes.

Just out of curiosity, since he left, does UT still have to honor his scholarship? I'm just curious how this works.

Shouldn't allow him back. Why would Tennessee allow him back? If he wants out.....then leave.....

Rehabilitate him. He's a young guy and made a regrettable decision to leave. As long as he didn't set the bridge on fahr as he was leaving... giving him an opportunity to return is reasonable.

He's good. He'll be back as a QB. Big G will redshirt.
SJ will be fine...back where he belongs. Jennings won't be a QB here unless everyone else goes down...:)

update from UT side:

UPDATE: Tennessee issued a statement to GoVols247 saying it was "aware" of the release from Colorado but couldn't confirm anything about a transferring student-athlete until it receives the transfer paperwork. A source close to the situation confirmed that Jones was planning to return to Tennessee, though, and that official word could be released as soon as Friday afternoon.

Lol of course we should allow him back. The more QB depth the better. A lot of people thought Ferguson was the guy long term, and Dobbs would transfer and that we didn't need him. Look what happened there. He came into his freshman year 4th string and due to circumstances beyond our control he had to play that year.
