I want to give the biggest shoutout to this man for giving us that energy we needed to get the win. Without his presence on that sideline I'm not sure we would have turned that game around. I love this guy and all of Vol Nation should really respect him. He hasn't taken one snap yet at Tennessee but he still found a way to give his all tonight!

Definitely he was fired up when everyone else seemed to be still asleep. Sometimes all it takes is that spark. Certainly something lit a fire and the UT we have been looking for started showing up.

I was out of the room and didn't see it, and it's not likely to make highlights.

If anyone is able to post the vid, it would be much appreciated. :hi:

You guys do realize he bolted to Colorado at the beginning of the year before coming back, now he's everyone's favorite VFL? I'll give him props but lets not go overboard here.

Would like to see someone on the staff take him under their wing and start his coaching career.

Was thinking the same thing. He knew he'd be deep on the depth chart when he decided to come back. yet still he has stayed engaged and tonight he made his presence felt.

People make mistakes. He manned up and called Butch after 2 weeks. I think we can give him a pass considering he got us 15 yards while up in that one VT player's grill.

Let's remember that the guy is a RS freshman. He was a highly touted recruit out of HS and is very talented. I love that we are giving him praise for his energy on the sidelines, but don't forget that he very well could see some time as a starter over the next four seasons. It's not like he's some former walk on who is just happy to be here.

Yeah, he gained a fan tonight. Shows a lot about that kid. I hope he gets a legit shot at the starting QB position next year, the kid obviously possesses leadership qualities.

BRISTOL — Tennessee’s struggling offensive line received encouragement — heated encouragement — from an unlikely source Saturday night during its 45-24 win over Virginia Tech in the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol.

According to the ABC broadcast of the game, fourth-string UT quarterback Sheriron Jones jumped the offensive line on the bench after their struggles led to three punts on Tennessee’s first three possessions.

“You promised you wouldn’t do this,” Jones told them, according to ABC. “I believe in you.”

ABC sideline reporter Samantha Ponder reported that at one point Jones had to be held back by teammates while going after the offensive line, which struggled in a 20-13 win over Appalachian State last week at Neyland Stadium.

I was there and didn't see it. I was done with him when he left for Colorado and wasn't a fan when he came back. I was wrong. Seeing how he was all in back in the summer he turned into one of my favorite players. He's been great for the team. I sure hope he's here for 3 more seasons... he'll be a solid contributor to the team if not a star player before he's done.

This right here. Dudes obviously got leadership qualities & is willing to hold someone accountable when they screw up. There's gonna be a fierce battle for starting QB privileges next year & Jones will be right in the middle of it.

Tip of the cap to him for sure but the 4 Captains need to start leading. Not the 4th string tailback
