Shekinna Stricklen Doubles Up Weekly Accolades

University of Tennessee sophomore basketball player Shekinna Stricklen has been named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week and Lady Vol Athlete of the Week after leading the No. 8/9-ranked Lady Vols to a 74-65 win over the No. 7/4-ranked Baylor Lady Bears on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena to open the 2009-10 season. The Morrilton, Ark., native scored 25 points, grabbed a career-best 14 rebounds, dished out five assists and tallied three steals.

I HATE to make comparisons to UCONN players but how she played last night reminded me of Tina Charles. Makes seemingly all her open shots and is a force to be reckoned with for her size down low. I'm loving the direction this girl is going! GO VOLS.:rock:
