Fair enough....you have two days for it to be announced. If it happens, good stuff. If it doesn't, stop posting.

It just makes me wonder why you are so pressed to prove to everyone on this board that you have this connection you are related to? Historically when dealing with anyone with an actual connection, they don't really care whether people believe them or not. You on the other hand seem determined to press it to everyone that you have "blood" on the staff and become extremely defensive if some of us don't believe you.

I really don't understand why this deserves its own thread. Springbok said that it was close to being a done deal. Deerpark creates a thread acting like an interview is required in the hiring of Shannon.

If they said the same thing, the title should be Shannon not hired yet, Dooley not resigning. Which would be awesome, breaking news still not worthy of its own thread.

But, who cares? Entertainment continues.

Can ANYONE explain why in the hell they are hold a "press conference/media meeting/stand around" at the practice field?

Has this been done in past off seasons?

Again, I'm not refuting that Shannon will ultimately be hired. He would very likely have input on a replacement for the other defensive staff member. Whoever is hired will.

I hope he is the new DC, that would be a great hire. But there are other guys out there that are just as big of home run hires as Shannon would be and Dooley is going to take the time to gauge interest from several different coaches before making a hire. This hire will make or break him. He's not doing it in 24 hours.

Someone said Dooley has known about the Washington situation for "weeks" and that is false. It was made official late yesterday afternoon. The thought that it could happen started on Friday.

it is not false...i am the one that said that....i said they have been in touch with shannon for a few weeks and knew something was brewing with sirmon and wilcox....i was confused as to whether it was due to dooley wanting them to go or because they were leaving.... you all need to get your facts straight.

Wilcox specifically going to UW, yes, Friday. Look how quickly that hire was made.

Needing a DC to replace Wilcox, whose name has been mentioned all over the place during each of the two offseasons he has been here, had to have already been seriously considered by Dooley. IMO
