But as far as it catching on with the crowd, it was a bit later. 97-98. You can go back and watch old games and not hear it. Back when times were good, no GREAT!

Too lazy to read the rest of this thread to see if anyone else thought the thread would be about the stadium itself actually shaking from extreme volume/jumping around.

And this is the dumbest idea ever... I forgot how annoying they were till the Bama game this past year, constantly trying to see through those damn things all game long...

It's a stupid stunt to try and take advantage of the crowd to increase sales. The AD comes up with these stunts with local businesses to increase their sales. Large #s of shakers will be sold to local vendors and stores. They will sell these at a mark up since everyone has to have a shaker for "shake Neyland". We need to stop trying to make the UF game a spectical and just win. Butch and the AD are more Pt Barnum than Bear Bryant

Absolutely right. In fact, we should all walk into the stadium with our right hand over our mouth and the thumb of our left hand shoved up our ass like total stick in the muds. Until we beat Florida, no one should have any kind of fun at the game...because, as fans, we don't deserve to have fun until our team wins the game.

If you don't want to buy a damn shaker, don't buy a damn shaker!

The AD and coaches are doing things that most people think make the games more enjoyable and or increase the game day atmosphere. They don't know the outcome of the games when they come up with this stuff. If you don't like it, don't participate in it.
