Tennessee got some unexpected good news on Tuesday night New Orleans shooting guard Jordan Cornish pulled the trigger on a verbal commitment to the Vols. He becomes the first commitment in the Class of 2014.
Cornish (6-foot-4, 180 pounds) is a player who's seen attention around him intensify during the April evaluation period, but instead of chasing the recruiting spotlight, he chose to end things with a commitment to the Vols before the summer season even really heats up.
He got a chance to see Knoxville and the Tennessee campus last year at team camp. However, his biggest source of knowledge about the University comes from a familiar name to veteran Vol fans.
On the floor, Cornish is quick to describe himself as a two-way player. In hearing how he breaks his game down, it's not hard to see why Cuonzo Martin zeroed in on him as a recruit.
