Really hope this just ends up being regular thunderstorms and maybe no damaging hail not only here in East TN but the rest of the state. Looks like at least for now the majority if farther south.

Tornado in Union City Tn about 2 hours ago. This was about 4 miles north of my house. We had absolutely no warning. My wife works for 911 here and they received calls of tornado on the ground 5 minutes before sirens went off.

Union City is right on the northern TN border. Guess all bets are off with the heavier stuff staying further south. :eek:hmy:

I was inside. Me and my family all safe. I was sent this picture by a fireman I know. Just an update. As of right now no major injuries being reported. There were a few houses that took extensive damage. But no deaths as of now.

Any recommendations on an emergency alert app? I'd like something that was very specific for my location, in case a midnight run to the basement is in order.

The Weather Channel app will alert and you can set it up to receive texts.

We use a weather radio but that's not really specific enough since the thing goes off for anything in Middle TN.
