Setting Worley

So is Worley setting the table?
No but CBJ may set him on the bench this Saturday. Not literally of course, he will probably just stand on the sidelines. Now, if he were going to sit on the bench himself that would be a different story. He would then be sitting on the bench. But, if CBJ and staff decide to not play him then they would probably be setting him on the bench. Figuratively speaking.

See if he were to sit himself on the bench then he would be sitting. CBJ can't sit him on the bench, however he can have him seated on the bench or set him on the bench himself. Then that would be setting Worley on the bench. Figuratively speaking of course. Since he probably won't literally be sitting on the bench. Figure of speech if you will.

Sit or sitting: action undertaken by the subject

Set or setting: describes the kind of action that is done to something or someone.

Probably should have just said "If Worley don't play".

The real question is why are you still here? Do the bama forums not like you either? And you must be one of the local bama d!(& riders because you're on here way to much to not have Internet and live in Alabama.... Kick rocks

Probably should leave it up to freak whether he can stay or not. Who elected you to the membership committee?

OP, if you think ole Worles, aka Lil Keanu Reeves, gives us best shot at reaching bowl eligible status, you are obviously dazed & confused. Maybe you should consider putting down the crack pipe, ole boy.

"To sit" is an intransitive verb. It describes an action undertaken by the grammatical subject of a clause, but it cannot take a direct object: the verb "to sit" does not express the kind of action that can be DONE TO anything.

"To set" is a transitive verb. It describes an action and needs a direct object because it describes the kind of action that is DONE TO something. That is, something or someone in the sentence has to be receiving the action expressed by the verb.
 Now then, your nerdness, could you refrain from posting useless nonsense that all posters care nothing about? Thank you, you can set back down now, Winston Oglethorpe IV.:fool:

Fan f'ing tastic.

Why?

Because football. And bacon.

Must be a Bama troll since you used "set" instead of "sit". Try to troll and the truth will eventually come out.
