Seriously, stop tweeting players

I mean not really to you "fixed my post". You basically restated it and my original point stands.

You don't like hypothetical thought exercises. They're not for everybody. To dismiss them as invalid because "it's not what happened" is invalid.

Why is it necessary to label someone or something " The Greatest"? Can't PM and TB both be great? :hi:

Blame Ali. Both are pretty amazing though. Give them equal supporting talent and coaching and I think you would just have to flip a coin to see who is actually better. Manning was usually trying to do more with less, but you can't fault Brady for being on the right team with the right coaching. He gets it done, period.

And you assume I don't like them merely because I don't really care for this one.

You stated Brady had no control over what happened, and? He has no control over the defense period. The opposition's play calling is merely one aspect of the entire situation he has no control over. And on top of that, the defense still had to make the plays.

If anything, I find the whole "if they run the ball he doesn't win the last 2 Super Bowls" a bit simplistic.

At least Peyton's name will never be associated with the words "Deflategate" and "Spygate" which are how a lot of people associate Tom Brady and the Patriots....just something to think about.

Lol...I have the narrative?

So you're telling me you think kids who never saw Manning take a snap as a Vol are the ones so passionately defending Manning?

You can't fathom that the ones that are doing this are probably the same guys that still complain that Manning didn't win the Heisman 20 years ago? I'm sure there are a ton of 18 year olds just chomping mad about that.

So yes, you're right, where would I ever get an idea that it was "grown men" getting their panties in a wad over this? Also, you just admitted you don't do social media, so how would you even know who the users are?

Lol thanks. You saved me from typing the exact same thing. I wonder how some opens a cereal box without instructions.

That's sort of my point. Changing those 3 play calls is a "minor and obvious" change, which makes it compelling. A lot of things are out of Brady's hand, but that's only a part of what qualifies the run plays from consideration. Are there any minor and obvious changes that would even work in Brady's favor? You're talking about the entire D being out of his control but that's not minor. That's a huge component. Also, the D played really ****ing well in this game and made the greatest defensive SB play of all time against the Seahawks. Should we change some of those big things?

No. I'm just talking about minor and obvious changes. Nobody is saying "The Pats should have called a different play" on the Tyree catch, because there isn't a case to be made. Everybody is saying "they should have run the ball" because there is a strong case to be made.

On the positive side of this, maybe JG sees that this fan base is one that will stand by former QBs and support them for 20+ years. If you shift your perspective a bit, it at least shows some loyalty. Still, tweeting at the kid is just dumb though.

I know i'll get hate for this as I have before..but it's interesting when I say that Peyton disappointed me at Tennessee for not beating Florida in 4 years...and I note that as soon as he left we finally DID ...AND we won a NC....I get ripped becuz Peyton was such a great guy and such a VFL. I totally agree he is a VFL and I love him for that, and I do think he is a great guy and represented the T well...the teabagging of nurses not withstanding. But these same guys will rip on Fulmer for not beating Florida enough and for recruiting dropping at the end. Of course throw in an obligatory catfish eating, fat guy joke for good measure on him.

Like I said...I LOVE the guy and he was a great pro and a GREAT rep of UT...and remains so today. Hell, I would love him as our HC and concentrate on offense...hand the defense to some great DC who i'm sure he could recruit. And speaking of recruiting...imagine Peyton showing up at some 5 star's house and leaving Saban in the dust. Peyton as a HC makes more sense than some would care to admit. I digress. But my hate for Florida has always clouded my love for Peyton during his time at UT. Great guy though and I know it's sacreligious to have anything but 100% pure unconditional love for him.

Just to piggy back on my previous post and I apologize if it is off topic a bit...when we talk about the possibility of Peyton as a HC someday..look at Paterno...look at Bobby Bowden. Were those guys hands on x's and o's guys toward the end? No. BUT...they were faces of the program and they hired great assistants. Another thing is, RECRUITING. It's darn near everything. You want 5 stars? What kid or parent is gonna turn down Peyton Manning showing up at their house? Peyton could run the offense as HC and recruit the best DC out there. Hell..he could get Wade Phillips in here.

Just a thought...random though it may be.

I must add that it may never be a job Peyton would ever want. But if he was? Give him a bag of money. Its not as far fetched as some would think. It would be a bold move...for a program that needs bold moves to get back to our rightful place among the SEC elite.

Both are HOF quarterbacks for sure but Peyton is a little more squeaky clean than Tom. Of course that's coming from a totally biased vol fan opinion lol

It's just idiots JG don't worry about it! It's the same ones who think we signed the #1 class in the country this year and that we are a shoo in for the playoff next, don't pay them any mind! I love Peyton too! I hate Brady and Belechick and what else can you say. They are the greatest ever end of story. It makes my life suck but there's obviously nothing I can do about it. I will tell you this I'm never pulling for Atlanta again for what they did to me!!! Never!!

He should have left the tweet up so people could go down the list and shame adults for trashing a teenager over an opinion they don't share. What a bunch of losers.
