Serious question: is hostessgate an issue anymore?

#1 is not nearly as true as you might think . . . And the duplicate account statement is ridiculous since you have no way of knowing (it doesn't happen very much because we don't let it.)

GA - if you think that any combination of facts, details, logic or reasoning will dissuade UTGibbs' self-delusions, however unassailable every reasonable person finds them to be - you haven't been paying very close attention.

At this point, I am convinced that his particular lunacy can only be explained by his being a troll, or that he suffers from organic brain disease.

The age and multiple usernames are unlikely at best. They're also unverifiable. Not a good foundation for an argument. Also, you are arguing on VN, not in front of the UN.

Is there a link this poll you were referring to? If you do not agree with the way the question in the poll was written, start a new poll and let the votes fall where they may.

As luck would have it - I started the poll, and not only as a direct result of UTG's nonsense, but even while using the wording which he suggested (or, he'd attempt to invalidate the inarguable results the poll overwhelmingly produced, instead of this grander conspiracy which he now purports).

He simply cannot admit that PF not only deserved to be fired, but that the overwhelming majority of Tennessee fans greatly desired and/or felt it was needed, or long-overdue.

He offers a glimpse as to what these ardent Pearl apologists will look like in a year....or sooner.

I'm right there with you TD. I know about your poll, I want to see links of these polls where gibbs is in the majority or supposedly steadily gaining ground.

that was going to be the hire. Waiting to announce CPF deal after Kentucky was not going to alter who ended up hired.

Agree. I haven't read all comments so maybe someone posted this but knowing the character of Kiffin and knowing the lack of shrewdness of Hamilton, I would guess Hamilton felt pressure to do it quickly because Kiffin told hin Clemson or Wash were in pIcture. Noone was hiring him but I bet Kiffin put pressure on Hammy by making him think he was being pursued. Could see Hamilton falling for that. Just speculation on my part

there is another son.. ultimately I think a former QB beomes that guy. :)

God bless the old man, my disagreements aside, given his very generous role to his alma mater, but I will be happier when the former QB becomes that guy.

It is obvious that your love for Phil far exceeds your love for Tennessee. Why don't you just go pull for whoever Phil is coaching now? Wait a sec. He isn't coaching anywhere now, is he? Wonder why that is? Could never be because he is washed up and the game passed him by,right? No, of course not.

Buy-out, baby, buy-out. 6 MMMMMMMMMMMIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIOOOOOOONNNNNNN Dollars.

Other folks suggested the poll, not me. In fact, I think you got even their wording wrong, but no matter. I certainly gave my blessing to whatever poll you wanted to run.

If I am truly in the minority regarding Fulmer (dubious given ticket sales, merchandising, and a host of other non-internet metrics), I don't mind. It will not be long before I'm in the supermajority on that one too as those who only remember the greatest run in TN history will get a big dose of what it was like before Philip in their living memory.

I assume you're not counting anything with Neyland.

As I've said many times, we have a proper idolatry of the Neyland Era. However, the historical circumstances under which Fulmer had his run make many of his accomplishments more impressive, IMHO. I would still consider Neyland - because he was properly innovative and groundbreaking - our greatest coach (wins too, of course).

However, the greatest run in Tennessee history belongs to the Phil Fulmer era.

whatever happened to that hot blond hostess with the big boobs---does she still work for UT in some capacity?

"On the pole" somewhere...maybe even here in the A-T-L ?

If that is true, we should change our name from the "Volunteers" to the "Second-bests" as the greatest run in Tennessee history saw us rise up to the distinguished rank of #2 in the conference.

"Decade of Dominance" does not lie. Again, he accomplished this feat in the heart of what will likely go down as the second toughest decade in history to win the SEC, and he achieved things at the highest level Florida is still waiting to replicate.

And that's a long way from 6th - 8th best....

Florida fans laugh.

Florida fans laugh.

Their perogative.

Yet, with all of their in-state advantage, they don't have a 1998.

That is all. This UT fan, fully rooted in the real world outside the back door, knows UT 1998 >>> any Fl championship.

How many SEC coaches had a winning record against him when he was fired? Someone said 6.

And it's a ridiculous stat. For instance, it includes Tubberville when we happened to catch him three times with his, and probably, the SEC's best team of the decade.

Tuberville might have had something to do with that. That is what good coaches do.

Decade of Dominance can be used to describe the guy that won the conference 6 times, not twice. Any decade that has Bama averaging 5 losses a year in the latter half is going to be hard-pressed to go down as one of the toughest in SEC history.

So true. 1998 = Decade of Dominance. Ignore Florida capturing their own NC, winning the SEC more than the rest of the conference combined, and completely owning Fulmer.
