Serious here.... I think Jeremy Pruitt should be the next head coach.

I would actually be excited to get Cut back. I think he was a major part of our success in the Fulmer era. Maybe he needs one last challenge before he rides off in the sunset. We wouldn't be in this mess if they had let him bring his coaches the first time around

It's so stupid that it's probably what UT will do.

any coach under Saban is gonna look like a rockstar with that roster, year over year.

How has Kirby smart worked out.they learn alot from saban to.and he went to Florida st and did the same thing....won a national title, with different coach and players,in his 1st year.and had the top defense in the country.

Jeremy Pruitt (born May 28, 1974) is the defensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team.[1] He was the secondary coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2010 to 2012 and won two national championships. Pruitt left Alabama and became Florida State's defensive coordinator in 2013, where he won a third national championship with the Seminoles.[2] In his only season as defensive coordinator, his defense was 1st in the nation in scoring defense (10.7 ppg), 3rd in the nation in total defense (248.2 ypg), 2nd in the nation in passing defense, and 1st in the nation in interceptions (26). Pruitt was a 2013 finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top college football assistant coach, and is again a finalist in 2016.. He played college football at Middle Tennessee and Alabama.

well, we could do worse than Pruitt, no doubt, and if Mr Hart was still here...there's a good chance Jeremy could be also...:):):)

GO VOLS!

Pruitt created major locker room problems when he was at Georgia a few years ago under Mark Richt. Those problems were one of the reasons Mark Richt was forced to exit. Also worth noting that Kirby Smart (wisely IMO) chose not to retain Pruitt.

I'd compare Pruitt to Lane Kiffin. Pruitt is an excellent DC with a great track record on the defensive side when he can be reigned in by a strong, mature coach. As a head coach, however, his personality flaws would become a much bigger issue. Part of Mark Richt's failure his last two seasons at UGA was his inability to reign in Pruitt.

People underestimate how much of Saban's brilliance is simply being able to manage difficult personalities.

I gotta say, DG, you do your research.

My gawd. You know how HUGE getting Gruden would be for this program? Even the hardest core naysayers I've seen begrudgingly admit with his name only...we would have 5 stars coming out of our a***es.

The talent alone would have us competing for a playoff spot...and Gruden would NOT under utilize that talent.

Gruden would be a MASSIVE hire for the ages.

No doubt, why didn't OP include Pruitt's numbers while at Georgia? I doubt they were in the same stratosphere as his numbers at Bama or FSU but that's just a guess. I do know that he was a loose cannon and not nearly as successful as his stints at Bama or FSU. Just a guess but I don't think they were in Bama or FSU'S league defensively despite being stacked with talent. Please enlighten us op...Obviously don't want as our next head coach. Perhaps OP can enlighten us and please don't use "talent gap" as an excuse, Georgia had similar talent as FSU and not far behind Bama. Plus he's a Bammer!!!

Anyone from Alabama doesn't deserve to carry our players' jock straps, much less coach our team.

Well it's possible that the best offensive coordinator in the history of this program is a Bama alum. So slow your roll. Like Pruitt he was also discovered at a Birmingham High School.

Maybe, but I reckon none of that talent on those teams had nothing to do with his success

Pruitts overall Defensive rankings at Georgia were 16th year one and 9th year two. Those were all improvements after he took over the dumpster fire Grantham left at Georgia never having better than 36th overall defense

Ehh but how much of that is actually fact? I get he can be a hard ass but stories tend to be overblown more often then not.

He’s also got a thing for interns. Check his time at FSU. Would rather have a lot of other prospects. Smart has turned into a good HC, but we’ve been to the Saban well before, while Florida is allegedly working on a buyout for their Saban approved hire.

Nope. This was not a joke. Gruden coming here rumors are but don't even think of stating it. The Orange Antifa come out in droves.

Pretty amazing how many "adults" apparently believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and "sure thing" coaches. One or more prove they aren't infallible every weekend, and some are saved because they no longer coach, but even that doesn't stop the believers.
