Like most if not all of you I was pissed about the UF game. I still am but in reading and posting I tried to pinpoint what I am ultimately pissed about. In the end I think it's just that we gave away, offensively, a very winnable game. I say that because I don't think i'd care nearly as much about any of the offensive woes if we had simply found anyway to win.

I don't expect miracle wins but we cannot afford to give away the ones gift wrapped to us. I expect 2 more losses in the next 3 games and all I really hope for in those is that we are competitive like we had been at OK and UGA. This is a decent team coming together but as we have seen it doesn't take much for an upstart with promise to start coming apart at the seams as adversity strikes. So far the words and attitudes coming from the locker room are the types that you'd hope for. Coach has claimed accountability and even defensive players who played lights out have accepted shared blame for not closing out the game. We'll see whether they can deliver from there.

Now I am more pissed at all the people that were "offended" by how drunk college kids acted at a game we should have won to a team that has beat us 10 years in a row.

People would rather say how embarrassed they were by the fans than by the actual game.

People that get offended offend me.

You nailed it OP, giving away a very winnable game. Having the ball inside the UF 15 four times and coming away with only three field goals. Actually for me, just losing to those crap slingers from Gainesville for the 10th straight time was more than enough to get me upset. As I posted on another thread, I haven't gotten over the 2000 game yet. Saturday's result just eats at me for different reasons.

For some unknown reason, we almost always seem to under-perform (both players and coaches) when we play UF. I don't know what it is. I wouldn't be surprised to see us close vs. Bama early in the 4th. I wouldn't be totally surprised if we beat USCe and Mizz.

I don't know what it is about playing Floridah....but we seem to say "dah" alot (especially on offense this year)

Agree. I was there an hour before the game started until the final horn. I never heard any chanting. Go to Gainesville and get hit in the head with a liquor bottle or have a cup of urine thrown on you, then talk to me.

I dont think its classless. It's drunk college students. And for those offended, why? If you are offended so easily you might wanna just stay home. Of course then there are those who say "what about my kids hearing that?" Well my guess is they're gonna be ok. Remember when you were a kid? Did you ever hear people use foul language? Its not that big a deal.

Its not offensive, just completely classless.

I don't see much room for class in that situation. I guess I am classless but losing like that in that environment to make it 10 in a row does not make me think, whoa man, show some class here.

CBJ has this team heading in the right direction.it was a team loss and they will learn from it.

I was really proud of some of the studs on D taking responsibility. I assume they mean it and isn't lip service. Just watching them scratch and claw at the victory formation was inspiring. I think when we sputter like that again they should just run the wildcat with AJ and let him will that offense to victory. He's got the cajones the offense is lacking.

What really bothers me is seeing regression in the season instead of progression. We just went through 3 years of that stuff and now we are supposed to do it again and sit here idly quiet about it.

I keep hearing about how CBJ has the team headed in the right direction, however I have yet to see anyone even slow down a corner or weak side blitz.

That too but had we won even ugly, I'd call that progression so I still really only care we didn't find some ugly way to win. In that regard have we regressed? IDK.

I am pissed that I had to hear their douche coach stoop to the level of drunk college kids. They were drunk, likely poor college kids that did what college kids do (say or do stupid things). He is a grown, well paid douche bag that couldn't be find a way to behave in a classy way when given the opportunity to do so.

He won't be a head coach for too long. I just pray we are the team that gets the chance to put the final nail in his coffin.

With today's news out of Gainesville I believe that ship has sailed.

Well you can't say fu without an fu in it. Maybe our fan base was just acknowledging a big close win for one of our competitors. Florida university, fu, Florida university, fu. Now that's spirit.

I'm pissed because we had the opportunity but let it slip away with a few mistakes, and some bad play calling.

But that's football. Losing to Florida doesn't ruin our season by any means. It would have been a huge win, but we still have the potential to win 7 games, which I would be pleased with.

Of course I hate the fact we haven't beaten Florida in 10 years, but the streaks that are even more embarrassing are 5 years since we had a winning season, and 4 straight seasons without a bowl appearance. Those are two streaks I hope to end this year - and they're both still obtainable.

You may be right. Outside of that, we have a young team that feels worse about this loss than any of us can possibly feel about it. It stings to lose the way we did, but I'm a VFL that will be there cheering them on next week when they play UTC and hoping we still find a way to get that 6th win this year.

i hate fl

I wouldn't be as pissed about giving away if it wasn't @#$% florida and their prick, douche fans. Sometimes you lose to a worse team. We should have won that game, we are actually the better team this year and it was all lined up to be perfect.

We just crapped the bed like we do every year now against florida. Death, taxes and Tennessee loses to florida. Certainties in life.

That certainly adds some vinegar to the piss.

I've been trying to figure it out too. I think it's that, for the first time in years, I was genuinely certain that we would win.

And then we came out and looked nothing like the creative, high-energy offense at GA and it just feels like I was standing on a trap door that just opened up.

I think we underestimated how the Freshmen would be affected by the last 9 years. I read articles saying "they are too young to understand, too naive to be bothered". IMO turned out to wrong. They can read, they know, they could feel the haunt of UF emanating from the crowd the more it stayed close and the more we kept blowing opportunities.

Add in checkered stadium, Lil Jon, alums visiting, hordes of recruits, SEC Network, etc. Perhaps we just put to much pressure on these guys with one too many "thing". And it just fell apart in one big storm of crap. As much as we don't want to, we just have to give this one a pass and move on. Learn? Yes. Linger? No. We have too much opportunity ahead of us with this young team to do anything otherwise.

This is where I'm at, too. If we had played hard and been beaten by a better team, then I would have respected the loss and been proud of our team. But to just give it away and play like we didn't give a crap in front of 300 VFLs and a home crowd that had gone above and beyond to create the most supportive and exciting environment in college football-- well, I feel like I did after UK in 2011. And I'm still pissed about that.

I've had enough cute slogans, coachspeak and excuses. Say it on the field. We need to find four more wins and get to a bowl, and last weekend made it a lot harder.
