Senior day list

Maybe the non Seniors on the list actually have obtained (or will obtain) their degree this year. Some of them will have been in school for 4 years.

And I may not hold the popular opinion - but I believe Senior day should be limited to either those that will not be allowed (per NCAA rules) to play next year and those that will actually obtain their degree this year.

The problem with including those who may declare for the draft - how do you pick and choose. Do you include ALL juniors which then detracts from the fact that this is a day to honor Seniors? If you let some and not all - you hurt feelings.

I would say leave it up to the team. If Barnett and Kamara want to go through the T this year I wouldn't think anyone would have a problem with that. They have both earned it and are more than likely not coming back next year.

There is some real talent on that list. Sutton, Weismann, vareen, Dobbs , Reeves Maybin. I wish them he best and glad all of them chose to come play on Rocky Top. Go Vols.

I may be getting my hopes up to high, but it's kinda heart warming not seeing Kamara and Barnett not on that list after CBJ said he told them they could participate if they planned on leaving!!!!!

InB4....... so your saying there's a chance!!!!!!

I have always been one to encourage players to use up their eligibility. If you have a BS after your third year, get a few credit hours toward a MS. Cordarrelle Patterson was an exception. He actually was fortunate enough to have Minnesota trade up to give him first round money, and he might have been academically ineligible anyway.

Barnett is another. He could be the highest drafted junior in Vols history, and another season here won't improve his stock very much. But if he does return? I will not complain. One of our G O A T. No question.

Add in Kamara, that makes 8 players we are going to miss big time next year.

Totally agree 3 of those have missed a bunch of games due to injury. The season would have been different with their play, experience and leadership. IMO we would be 9 and 1 right now.

Austin's future father in law works for me, and I had thought he would explore being a grad transfer close to Memphis (the fiancé is in pharmacy school). However, she will finish there fairly soon and head back to east TN - he may just want to move on with his career, I'm pretty sure he graduates this semester.

Either way, we should be very appreciative of every one of these young men.

yeah, these days all normal traditions have become gray instead of black and white...for me, it's up to the administration, coaches, players, to make that call...just glad they became a Vol, so I'm good with what's good for the team...:twocents:

GO VOLS...RUN THE TABLE!

Can't start a thread around here anymore, trying to say something nice about players, without some d'bag coming in and being a total assclown.

Congrats to those being honored today. You will all be missed. :hi:
