Senior Associate AD resigns....Possible Fulmer Incoming?

In my opinion he is as deserving of a position in the AD as anyone. With that said I wouldn't get my hopes up. Unfortunately Currie seems like a snake in the grass when it comes to Fulmer.

Why does a coach who was fired some 10 years ago and has no experience in running an AD deserve a spot in the AD? I just dont get this mindset.

29-21 his last 4 years. Including two 5 win seasons.

It was time.
It was time or at least a serious ultimatum given to fix it. But to say the man was bad for UT football is stupid. How has it worked out for us since he has been gone? Or do people think we are still digging out from the hole CPF left us in. Also I have wondered why people blame the Admin for the program now but not when CPF starting failing. If you go back to the time it started declining for CPF things had changed. Academic standards were changed for one that made it harder and
CPF did not handle that change well. If you go back and research you will find were former players were quoted saying that the changes made had messed up TN football. They said CPF was neutered by the AD dept at the end.

He helped ETSU resurrect their program from the ground up. You really think the candidate that they will hire will require "expirience in running an AD" as you suggest? Maybe the actual director, but not this position.

In reality this position isn't going to have anywhere close to the same responsibility of an AD.

If we can give Condredge Holloway a sweetheart office job in AD, why not Phil?

Fulmer "working like heck" on the hill would be a good thing. I trust him with the program.

Yep. Fulmer would "bust his tail" and "work like heck" for this university. He would "count his blessings" and "bust his chops everyday."

Admittedly, I love Phil, but he really would take as much pride in this job than anyone else in my opinion. Former team captain. Long time O-Line coach. Successful offensive coordinator. SEC Champion and National Champion head coach.

To me it seems like a no-brainer. Any of the other candidates have a spot in the college football hall of fame? Any streets named after those candidates?

All this talk isn't doing anyone any favors. Currie does need to get along with Phil and vise-versa. At the end of the day Currie will be judged by results, but there is no reason for Currie to be mad or hold a grudge against someone that is revered as much as Fulmer. Time for everyone to man up, of course most of this is message board blather and conjecture anyway. GBO!

Wasn't a fan of Fulmer as the AD but he still has a following with some of the money and could have been valuable in "a spot in the AD".

Last I heard, Currie wouldn't answer the question whether he's spoken to Fulmer. Doubt they will ever work together again.
