This is the behavior most displayed on VN.

It is a problem with modern american culture. It will not get fixed by this thread I guarantee you that.

People, fans, feel like they deserve more but yet they give less. They don't research they regurgitate information. They fail to discover the truth, they spread lies and rumors. The irony...

VN and many of its members are like this country. Uneducated and only repeating what someone else has said forming the ignorant lynch mob on a witch hunt.

Hysteria has set in and realism has been discarded. People remove true factors to make points. The sad and depressed are loud and gaining momentum by spreading false propaganda.

Take a real look at this team and truly evaluate what this program has been through. I'm disgusted with the reactions of the VN posters who continue to bring this attitude of negativity around.

I could ignore them but f it I'm a man and I'll fight them. I'll stand true as a fan and support this team and it's coaching staff.

Not a single negative poster has done a damn thing to deserve a better team. You are not entitled this because you feel you deserve it. Great teams earn it, they do things right. From the staff to the players to the fans all is done to build not destroy.

Destruction got us here and it is not the solution. You may want it now but what have you done to deserve it?

If those who talk **** are going to be loud then I'll be louder. I support this team top to bottom. UT football is a game but it creates a bond between my son and myself. We enjoy it as fans. And I for one am fed up with all of this I deserve this, lets change not work, lets find the easy way out crap.

It's not easy to recover from what this program has been through. Stop allowing the negatives to win and dominate. They are ignorant and know not what they do.

+Infinity!

Saying things like "We ARE TENNESSEE' sounds really good, but even TENNESSEE must eventually suffer the down cycles of a major college football program and work hard to rebuild not only TALENT, but CHARACTER and THE WILL TO WIN! The latter two are intangibles that don't show up on a prospect's 'star' recruiting score.

I will play your game:

Do you think we did not have the talent on the field to beat Kentucky?

dropping the damn bomb in forum speak....you wake up mad?

Even though I agree we have come crappy fans, every team does. I live in Alabama, and a lot of their fans are immature, obnoxious zealots. If Tennessee doesn't deserve one on the basis of their fans, then Bama needs to give their title back.

I'll help him out and play YOUR game: We had the talent; we didn't have the WILL TO WIN. I for one would rather bring in a 3 star with a winner's mentality than a 5 star with a ME mentality. We have some of those, and they need to go.

Do you think removing players from the field who are not demonstrating a desire to win falls within the duties and responsibilities of a coaching staff?

I think that's the point of this thread: We don't DESERVE a winning season, a bowl, or a championship. That's something that's EARNED through better recruiting and player profiling, not to mention coaching them up after they're here in campus.

He's definitely mad. There's a difference in being a fan and thinking Dooley is a competent coach. I'm a Tennessee fan, and I do not think he is. Thanks though OP.

Thank you and I totally agree. There are some ignorant posters on this site that truly have no idea what they're talking about.

I agree about not deserving a championship. No one "deserves" a win period.

That's why the game is played. The most disciplined, hard fought, well played, sound game plan that is executed will win (as long as their isn't a talent disparity too great).

That's what I'm saying. I think some of the people on here are fickle and ridiculous. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with the OP, but I'm just saying the fans not "deserving" one because of the remnant of bad fans. It's just the bad fans our louder on here. I still believe the majority are sane Vols :)

This is the most sanctimonious piece of crap thread I've ever read.

Good teams teams win football games. How tiny segments of their fanbase acts on message boards doesn't change that.

We haven't done a "damn thing to deserve a better team"? What exactly do you propose considering we have no say in coaching, practices, in game decisions, etc?

I suggest washing the sand out of your vuh-jay-jay and a nice long nap. Then try starting your Sunday morning out a little less mad.

I'm not saying you have to support the coach to be a fan. And yes I dropped the damn bomb, sorry I'm not as religious as many here in tennessee. But I dont judge.

It's the constant negativity. You can say I think out coach needs to go then express your opinion. Thats great and can lead to good discussion. It's the people who add the feeling self entitlement or remove facts and factors to make their uneducated points.

I hope that clears up a few things. And yes I'm mad bro!

I do. I also believe that a college football player playing in the last regular season game with a bowl bid on the line shouldn't have to be motivated or need to be approached by team leaders because the effort or will to win isn't there "that week" because "they don't want to practice for a bowl" during the holidays. That's ridiculous.

If you seek honest, truthful, level headed debate, 100% of time... Volnation or any other message board probably isn't for you.

The title is self entitlement. It's an attitude not a physical action. The point is as a fan we can't do anything so stop acting like you can. Take a nap the learn to read.

I think its incumbent upon those of us who have followed Tennessee Football for a significant period of time to help bring some perspective to this discussion board. Debate is good and healthy amongst all of us; however, wanting to fire coaching staffs at the drop of a hat -- especially in this particular scenario -- is worthy of challenge.

Dooley and his staff could have easily sat individuals that they did not think were motivated. Coach K benched his entire starting five for the first five minutes of the Georgia Tech game a few years ago. If the players do not have the will to win, yet the coaches keep them in the game then the blame falls on the coaches.

Dooley and his staff were out-coached by Joker Philips and Randy Sanders. That is unacceptable.

Good logical questions. Hope you're happy with all the emotional responses they generate. It's all that comes from those who disagree with your points.

But, investing in the program (e.g. through donations or whatever other means) or some affiliation with the institution does not entitle you to have an opinion. So, you probably missed that part of the rant.

Anyways... 1) we had better talent than Kentucky on the field that day, but we simply got outplayed and outcoached.
2) That falls well within the role of the coach, but keep in mind, many here blame the players for poor tackling, poor blocking, poor play, etc. as does their coach.

It's the new Tennessee football way. If we lose, blame the players. If we win, Dooley is the only guy who would have ever taken the job and we're simply lucky he accepted six times his previous salary to put up with complainers like you and me. It's just not fair to him.:hi:

Any player that's suited up and played the game will tell you, my friend, that PLAYERS win championships. This team did not PLAY good football against KY. Joker Phillips and Randy Sanders didn't 'outscheme' us or draw up a play in the dirt on the sidelines that we weren't ready for that day! Our players, especially on the offensive side of the football, did not come to play. End of story.
