"Here is a list of 4/5 star players that got kicked of the team or never qualified since 2002. I think it is safe to say that we would have been much better since 2002 if they had all stayed.

James Banks
Demetrice Morley
LaMarcus Coker
Daniel Brooks
Raymond Henderson
Mondre Dickerson
Heath Benedict
LaRon Harris
Greg Jones
Ruben Mayes
Brent Schaefer
Todd Cox
Malcolm Rawls
Slick Shelley
Ramone Johnson
Darius Myers
Kenny O'Neal
Lennon Creer
Rolando Melancon
EJ Abrams-Ward

Hard to win sometimes when the top athletes you count on from your signing classes don’t make it, or stay on the team."

A friend of mine sent this to me and I thought it was pretty interesting. I know it's all well known info, but it still made me stop and think....wow...

I always thought Rolando was going to be a beast. We certainly could use him on the DL this year... Good post

Sorry, I suppose the point is that they were 4/5 stars that did not or will not now provide us with their services whether it be by their own decision, fault, etc.

Coker and Morley hurt bad. According to Orgeron in Meat Market, Meclendon was the greatest d-linemen prospect since sliced bread.

I would like to see a list of people who came out of high school with 3 stars or less that made a huge impact on UT football.

Darius Myers was not a four-star. And as for threes, Arian Foster and Marvin Mitchell have to be at or near the top of the list.

Kiffin can put a stop to all these players not qualifying or being kicked off the team by doing better background checks before he gets them on campus.

True. And by showing recruits that he will not put up with nonsense.

By the way, welcome. :hi:

yeah, thanks for putting that together. That list is the difference maker between Fulmer being gone and two more SEC championships.....

I wonder if the number of players we've lost to such circumstances is above average or normal. I bet with the classes Florida State usually pulls in, they have their far share....

They usually have great talent, but it seems they have fallen apart recently as well...

I'm not sure colleges are allowed to do full background checks on kids. The NFL can with draft picks but that's a whole different story.

You're always going to have some kids go to college, screw up, and leave. Will always keep happening.

Also, welcome to the board :hi:

I played ball against James Banks a couple of times and that kid was a raw athlete. I too wander what could have been with him if he could have kept it together.
