SEC's 10 deadliest big-play threats in 2016 Gallery Slides

7. Alvin Kamara, Tennessee

It's a toss-up here between Kamara and Jalen Hurd, but most Tennessee fans would give a slight speed and athleticism edge to Kamara, one of the team's fastest players. Kamara averaged a touchdown (including one on special teams) every 13.5 times he touched the football last season. And his 6.5 yards per carry average ranked third in the SEC.

3. Evan Berry, Tennessee

Some players have it and Berry is one of them. No player in the SEC is better at navigating his way through chaos than Tennessee's leading special teams threat (we haven't forgotten about you, Cam Sutton), who notched three kickoff return touchdowns as a sophomore and led the nation last season with 38.3 yards per return. And there's nothing finesse about Berry's game as one of the enforcers in the Vols' secondary. His physicality in the return game makes him a nightmare to tackle as he seems to bounce off and barrel his way through defenders.

2016 is our year Nation I can feel it in my bones

Man, we coulda had five guys on that list, legit. They could've given Hurd his own spot, rather than honorable mention in the Kamara entry. They definitely coulda listed Dobbs (and shown the pylon TD photo). And they coulda included Cam on punt returns.

Woulda been a little too much homerism to include all 5, I guess. But we all know.... ;)

Let's be honest....Hurd has not been a HR threat up to this point in his career. I believe it will change this season though.

Dobbs has been more of a threat than Hurd so far.

I would also include Dobbs on the list. His runs against Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky were legit.

Of course you would.... none of us doubted you would show up and say Dobbs should be on the list....:birgits_giggle:

This time though I actually agree with you. As a runner, Dobbs is big play threat any time he pulls it.

We do pull Hurd too often/early in the RedZone. He runs people over to get there just to see someone else get the score. Hey whatever works, I just like seeing him get to pay dirt. I think he goes straight beast mode this year and shows the rest of the country what we already know!

I seriously exited the forum, and clicked back on thinking I had accidentally clicked on the baseball forum, by how the thread name was worded. Lol

A touchdown run in the red zone is not = to a HR threat, those are the guys who can bust it from 40+ yds. Thats why I agree with D4H, Dobbs should be a WR...

I really wish that we would find a way to get Berry in the game with the ball in his hands a lot more

Fo sho man. That boy can move.

Btw, nobody around here gave Jumper a lick of credit for that assisted TD to EB. Somebody's gotta get him the ball.

For real though. He still needs to improve ball security a bit, but I'm still amazed by the long run he had vs UGA and the one he had against UF where the DB tried to strip the ball and Dobbs just shrugged him off and kept going.

Oh, I know what the topic was...people talking home run TD's and Hurd not being the HomeRun threat was mentioned. And he's not, I agree. But on occasion I think out loud on this forum, and my thoughts arent always on topic. It's just something I've noticed with Hurd. He should be a guaranteed 6 in the RedZone. Just excuse my random thoughts...only 247 times since 2011 fortunately lol...

Fournette was 5th & should have been higher. Maybe #1 or #2. I would definitely put him at #2 over Georgia's McKenzie.

Fournette at #5?

The most feared RB in college football.....#5?

ok

Not that I'm saying something you, and everyone else, don't already know, but the most feared RB in CFB that has broken off numerous long runs and TDs. Having him at #5 on this list is a joke.
