Are you a secret nega? Here are ways to tell. Do you find nothing better to do than question the fanhood of fellow Vol fans simply because they have a different opinion? Do you confuse questioning a coach's ability to lead your team with actual support of the team? Do you find you have nothing better to do than regurgitate an argument made ad nauseam in multiple threads, all the while complaining about VN, while you are posting on VN. If these symptoms describe you, you may very well be a secret nega. That's right, you are secretly the very thing you rant and rave about and claim to hate. Welcome to the darkside.

You are 100% correct in description of Negas, except there is nothing secret about them.

If we're going down that route, the worst fans of all are the ones who pull out this straw man argument every time. It's not the fact that they're "questioning the coach", it's the fact that literally every post of theirs is negative and they only seem particularly interested in posting after UT loses or other potentially negative developments. Legions of the Miserable and all. Us "secret negas" (phrasing...lol) can tell the difference between those people and regular questioning fans, and we're perfectly appropriate in calling out certain people when the negativity is disproportionate to the team's level of play.

It also doesn't make sense to call them "secret negas" since they're, you know, not being negative about the Vols.

Absolute truth... Those shouting down detractors of the gym teacher THINK they are fans, but in reality are the problem by supporting a substandard product and coach.

They are worshipping in a cult of personality (however whiny it might be).

You confuse the coach with the team. You're being positive about Butch, but are you being positive about the Vols? Should Butch prove himself to be a substandard coach, a coach unable to elevate us to the next level, does he deserve our support? When do you decide our players, the true Volunteers, deserve better?

And the only reason you see some posters continue to decry Butch's shortcomings is because some continue to sing his praises, as if he's one of the greatest of all time. Imagine, as annoyed as you get about what you term "nega-vols", some posters get by what they refer to as the "sunshine pumpers".

Another original thought. "Nega Vols are the ones supporting CBJ".

Nice try, but that's not original.

We all have somewhat the same information, while some draw the conclusion, Butch is bad for the program and he has done all the good he can time to cut bait, while others draw the conclusion that CBJ can learn from his mistakes and make adjustments to his staff and the calls he makes on the field and let's go win a NC.

It can't be both. One group will be right while the other side will be wrong.

It's like the pitcher giving up back to back walks in the top of the 9th in a close game, he tells the manager to leave him in, "I've got this", but then gives up a 3 run homer and gives up the lead. It doesn't matter if they win after that, the pitcher didn't have it.

Draw your own conclusions but until it plays out neither side is right.

We can't even agree on what success or failure is when discussing events in the past, how do we expect to get on the same page about the future.

If we win a NC in 2017 it won't matter how we got there or who the HC is we can all agree that will be sweet.

If 2017 turns out to be a bust and we go into 2018 season with a new coaching staff, nobody will be happy about how 2017 turned out and we will all be hopeful for 2018.

Go Vols 2017!

This reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode where everyone on Maple Street accused everyone else of being an alien.

Then, the actual aliens were sitting in their ship watching this unfold and laughing because they were shooting one another.

Plenty of people question Fanhood, in fact in the majority of debates people question Fanhood, character, mental capacity, military service etc, very few question rational.

Your first accusation is completely backwards. Negas don't question the fanhood of fellow Vols with different opinions than theirs, pumpers do. If fact, it's their favorite hobby.

I've never seen someone question a poster's military service. If they did, they would probably earn their first ignore from me.
