Second-Year Surge: Tennessee Vols football's Von Pearson

First Paragraph: Pearson is still suspended from the Tennessee program while Jones and Co. await to learn whether the receiver will be charged in connection with a sexual assault allegation, but we decided to do a Surge story on Pearson for two simple reasons: Multiple sources in and around the program claim to believe he won’t ultimately charged in the matter, and his role on the team probably will be an important one if he returns.

He absolutely adds another dimension to our offense when he is in. Electric. Hope everything gets sorted out legally.

I hope he's cleared, and for reasons that have nothing to do with football.

Yes.

He seems like a nice, up-beat guy with a potentially bright future that hopefully proves to be intact. He is a dynamic player that adds a lot to the team.

I hope it gets cleared up if he didn't do nothing. He's the kind of player the opposing team has to worry about. Add him to the other guys we have on offense, and it will cause problems for a defense.

I know he's suspended from all team related activities but does anyone know if he's still allowed to work out in the facilities. I guess it doesn't really matter that much. If he wants to stay in shape it shouldn't be difficult

We really have to get him back if we are seriously going to compete for the East IMO

I'm afraid you may indeed be right, with Pearson, the Vol's have a better chance of winning close SEC games.
Without Pearson, I'm not as confident, are you?

I dont agree with the poster you're quoting that with we need him to "seriously contend for the East". Cuz we better be seriously contending without him.

If he's suspended from team activities he's not allowed to use the team facilities I'm pretty sure.

I really hope this situation is sorted out. This guy had a long journey to get to UT and I really hope that he is innocent in all this. Guy worked so hard to get where he is at and it just wouldn't make sense for him to blow away any future goals by doing what he is accused of. However I don't know what happened and won't say anything else until the smoke clears.

But he could use student "facilities"....I would think he would have access to these if he is able to register for classes! Or at the very worse...run up and down the street and workout Rocky style in some barn!

i don't pretend to know what 420 thinks....but maybe it was somewhat along those lines :)

Wishful thinking on the authors part.

They're going to keep waiting, and waiting, and waiting until it's too late. We've seen this story play out already.

Pearson is a weapon for sure. Always made the first guy miss. He attacks the football when it's in the air.

But we have more than enough WR talent to balance the offense. Dobbs and our improved run defense are the keys to east division.

Not trying to be a negative nancy but we're not going to win the East fellas. We are still too young and lack depth at too many key positions. We will potentially have 3 true freshmen starting in the middle of our defense and another true freshman starting at left tackle and while they are talented, they will still be true freshmen.

8-4. Get ready for it guys.

Say if he did get cleared and it dragged out to November or December (after regular season). Could he redshirt or apply for another year since he had no other options but to sit and wait for clearance.

Too much logic for this board.
