Excited to read this! Thanks for posting.

Think he is one that can be very good here. And there are some games on the schedule where we will see him.

Hope he gets some reps early in case Dobbs is injured. He can definately spin it.

If Butch is smart he pulls Dobbs VERY early in games this year when they are in hand. Get Dormady in there and let him run the whole offense. Not 10-12 handoff a game. Let him try to put the ball in the end zone. Sets us up so much better for 2017.

I agree with another poster, Butch needs to get Dormady as much experience as possible, just in case Dobb's is injured
Not just handing the ball off, but running the whole offense

I can not wait to get this kid on the field. Seems like forever since college ball has seen a real QB. I really, really hope they mix him in with Dobbs this season. It would make sense.

I would actually be interested to see some specific packages for QD in each game. No Dobbs, Dobbs as a back, or Dobbs as a WR. Take QDs most comfortable situations and stretch the field. At least force Ds to prepare for a pro-style QB along with the rest.

Don't know if it will happen. But, it would be interesting.

Totally agree. This should have been done last season as well. Let him throw the ball as well. It was frustrating last year when he came in because he mostly handed the ball off. I think QD has a lot of talent.

I believe Butch was playing a recruiting shell game. Don't show too much of what you have when you still haven't signed future competition. Flip side might be that Dormady wouldn't show enough to attract future targets...my vote is for the former scenario.

Not sure I agree with this. He may have been recruited over by JG arriving on The Hill.

Or may not have? :dunno: We don't have to decide this tonight, ladies and girls...reconvene next April 17.

Unless we see a nightmare scenario, JG redshirt this year. and we begin the 2 year starter with a redshirt trend.

I would agree except Butch hasn't shown the coaching ability to consistently hold 2 touchdown leads. I hope we only see Dormady if we're up by at least 3 TDs with about 5 min left in the 4th.

I believe Q will post some nice numbers in mop up duty this year. Butch is done with this conservative crap.

<blue font> Yeah that conservative crap like throwing a pass back to the QB for a touchdown, we can't have it I tell you!!

I'd guess they mean conservative when the game is well in hand and Butch just wants the clock to run out. Not so much a close game in the second quarter. (Blue font)

I said it from the start, may the criticism rain on me, but this guy can play and I said that he would be the next Peyton Manning if he gets enough playing time. The article is pretty accurate. He's not as fast on his feet as Dobbs (but then who is?), but QD can make plays with his feet, with or without blockers. He's cool under pressure but wants to make plays. If anything I'd say he has a hard time throwing the ball away as he wants to complete every pass. He's very accurate and can sling that ball standing in the pocket or on the run. I saw him play HS ball 20 miles away & Butch Jones & the offensive coordinator (JJ) on the sidelines evaluating him. I hope he gets more playing experience so he will be ready. With team 120, there should be plenty of opportunities for him to get more playing time. I have no doubt QD can lead the team should he need to. IF QD is the QB and teams crowd the line to stop the run they'll get burned because he can pass and put it where it needs to be; we just need guys that can catch it. This should be an exciting year for the VOLS. GBO!!!
