SEC WBB Tournament Bracket

Tennessee earned the 7th seed over 8th-seed Ole Miss due to a superior winning percentage against the group of teams tied at 8-8 (or similar records) in a multi-team tiebreaker scenario. Although Ole Miss beat Tennessee head-to-head, the SEC tiebreaker formula prioritizes combined records against all tied teams.

Ole Miss played UGA twice and split. So they were 2-2 in games against those opponents while we were 2-1.

Both have a first round bye but the Lady Vols supposedly have an easier draw. If the favorites win, LVs would play an 11 seed in their first game while Ole Miss would face a 10. I agree with you there's not much difference.
Yeah but we had the same record in league and they won the head to head

Oh, sorry, according to a previous post the head to head doesn't matter. The seeding was based on who had the best record against those other teams who ended the SEC season with an 8 - 8 record. Tennessee was 2 and 1.

Kentucky is the big loser here. They have the highest AP ranking of any of the four teams tied at 8 and 8 and the best record (tied with Ole Miss) against Top 25 teams but they have to play an extra game compared to the other three.

To win the Tourney TN would have to beat three teams that they have already lost to. But Texas is not a bad matchup. They better not sleep on Alabama, though. They haven't done well against teams they played twice this season.

We are according to the bracket.
Bracket says we are #6 and Ole Miss is #7, they are 1 seed behind us. If we can win vs Alabama, out of these 4 I'd rather play Texas than Vandy, USC or LSU. I don't think we win but Texas playing style gives us best chance of those 4 IMO.

6 seed - get to face one of the two teams we've recently lost too so we can maybe win and face another team we recently lost too, to maybe win and face the team we got thrashed by...yeah, this isn't going to go well.

HOWEVER, if these ladies do pull some tournament magic and beat Texas, that may get them into the NCAA tourney still.

They are already in, probably as a 7 seed unless they win a couple but still probably a 7 seed even if they go 2 &1 or 0 & 1. They played the toughest schedule in the nation and have a decent NET.
