I'm likely relocating to AL in the next few months, so they'll be 3 of us. I'll either be in the Huntsville/Decatur area or Dothan, still wrestling between the two.

Pick Dothan more Auburn fans and closer to the beach

I LIVE IN ALABASTER.... What part of the city do you live in??? Have you ever seen an tan f250 with a bright orange T on the front?

I've seen that truck driving around town...I almost threw up the V4L sign up at it haha

I love Dothan and that's my choice. My wife wants to remain as close to her home as possible (Nashville) so she votes for Huntsville.

Yeah, seems like every game i watched last year the commentators talked about the lack of homers.

Is the Met a hitter or pitcher's park?

Pitchers park from a HR standpoint, hitters park from an alley's standpoint. There's a lot of ground to cover in the OF. Get one in the gap and run for days. LNS is roughly 360 in the gaps I believe and the Met is around 385-390.

I'll be expecting at least one picture posted from everyone fortunate enough to attend.

You are correct BGV! Outfielders need legs & arms & no cheap homers in this place...unless the tricky winds change out of those pine trees! Wonderful stadium with great sight lines. Leaving in a few hours. GO VOLS! :hi:

Walk up (any game), buy any ticket and then sit wherever you want to sit. Move if you are in someone's seat and go to the next best seat.

If you are going, go to first two days. You will see every team and their fans. Unlike SEC Football, fans of all teams get along great and are there to enjoy the games. Everyone roots for their team with very little obnoxious behavior.

Look for the old South Carolina fan with the striped overalls (he will be walking around all weekend), listen for the Ole Miss "throw it in the dirt" fan, and the middle aged LSU fan who leads cheers for the Tigers and for any other team he decides to root for.

The Stadium is easy to get in and out of and you can get as much sun or shade as you want depending on where you sit. I recommend at least one game to sit behind home plate and listen to the scouts talk and check out the radar guns.

Aloft in Homewood is where we always stay. Only 15 miles from the Met in Hoover & a great suburb of B'ham.
I'll buy you lunch, Freak! :hi:

Hey thanks for the tip.

It's going to be tough for me to make it down. If I do, it's probably only going to be for the first game, though. (notice my confidence that we'll play more than one :) )

I have a "unit meeting" most of day on Wednesday. I almost considered going Tues. and driving back to Knoxville that night but my superiors would not be pleased with my appearance.

Hoping against hope for Thur-Friday sometime.

Will be there! Taking daughter and her friend (wingman) to scope cute guys but at least I'm going. 1st college bball game since I was walkon catcher for Norm Debryn 35 years ago at UA. Still have my mitt with red stains. Maybe I should paint it Orange! I still hear kids in my head from Arkie "is that urines mitt?"
Question?
Will seats closer clear when Auburn is over?
Had to get seats way down the line since I was late!
Looks like Arkie is saving pitchers for a run - very dangerous tact! Seeing how first one is sigle elimination! In tourneys you save and you lose!
Go Vols!

I think my boys and I will drive down from Huntsville tomorrow afternoon. Any time my Vols are within 2 hours of my house, I gotta represent.

Here's a question...I noticed on the site for the Met, they have wifi on level three...is that only for press folks or is there access to that level for the common fan?

Thank God, at least their are TWO sensible people down here!!

Go Vols!:pepper:

Lol, exactly man. That's why I love this area, my street alone in my neighborhood have two married couple that are also Vol fans and Shelby County has quite a bit considering what state we live in. This girl I have been dating is also a Vol fan, which is what recalled helped me decide to originally ask her out. Lol

Go Vols!!

Moe's BBQ is pretty good too. There is one at Patton Creek, which is in Hoover and about 5-10 mins from the Hoover Met.

Sit wherever you want to sit. If you are in someone's seat, move to the next available seat. Tickets may be for "reserved" seating, but no one ever checks.

Not leaving as early as planned but officially on the road to Hoover from middle TN. This tournament is so much more enjoyable when I'm not wearing UT gear just for the hell of it. GBO!
