Anyone have some "insider" info on hoops at the GA Dome? I'm having a little trouble deciding on which seats would be "good enough" for the price. I'm sure that in such a big venue, there are quite a few that leave you far from the action.

Also, is it usually very difficult to get single session tickets for only our games on the street? I'm not certain that I want to pony up the big bucks for a package, unless I could unload the games I don't want.

None of the seats are great, but you want to be on the sideline opposite the press section for the best view. UT's section rotates, so I have no idea where it is this year. I got my tickets through the university but haven't bothered to look.

Single session tickets are usually very easy to pick up, as fans are selling them whenever their team loses (or for sessions they aren't interested in.) Singles are usually very reasonable unless it is deep in the tourney and UK is still playing. There are usually 452,000 UK fans in Atlanta without any tickets, so if the Cats are in the finals, plan on scalpers' prices going up considerably.

If and when the Vols lock up the 1 seed with another win or another MSU loss, they will play at 1pm on Friday, Sat., and Sunday. Just an FYI

So, how do the "sessions" work? Is there an early and late session Friday, and do the two games Saturday have separate tickets?

Sorry if I'm asking a ton of questions, but I'm trying to plan this thing in detail so I can attempt to persuade a less-eager Vol fan to join me. None of the regulars who know me are needing reinforcements, are you?

Not usually. There are ushers checking tickets at the entrance to the lower levels. You can usually move to better seats within a section, but section jumping, while not impossible, is more difficult.

2 Thursday, 2 Friday, 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday. Tickets are per session, not per game.

Yes. There are yellow-jacketed ushers checking some, but not all of the lower level sections. Worst-case scenarion is a section in the corner that isn't sold. It's apparently deep enough in the corner to not be sold, but it's not too far away and is a great seat for the price of an upper - I like it. The upper portions of the temporary seats are often not checked by ushers either. Just look around to see where tickets are not being checked. If it's not a late round game involving UK, there will be plenty of empty seats in the lower level.

So does that mean that UT will play at 1:00 or at 9:45 on Friday? (Assuming we get the #1 seed)

I'm thinking about going this year. How easy is it to get cheap tickets (<$20ea) the day of the game? I don't want to pay $260 to go down there and see Tennessee play once then get eliminated. So, I'd rather pay day-to-day.

How does the ticket system work? Like if some Tennessee fans go at 1:00 and leave after the Tennessee game, can you buy their tickets for the other games that day as they're leaving the arena?

The Thursday and Friday tickets are in "sessions," 2 games a piece. We will play in session 1 on Friday.

Good info.

Anyone know how much to expect a "session" will go for from scalpers? (2 tickets)

Best thing to do is try to buy entire session tickets from the fans of the losers of the Thursday games.
