SEC Tournament Bracket 2024

Win the first, lose the second and let’s get ready for the big dance. I hate being like that cause it’s a loser mentality BUT if we make it to Sunday, that would be playing 5 (with 4 of them likely being intense) games in 9 days. That’s a lot of minutes on our starters and short bench.

Not the greatest bracket for a 1 Seed. We likely get MSU in our first game, and let’s not dwell on how the earlier game with them turned out. They were a tough matchup for us in the paint. Aidoo would need to beast up. That said, all the talk after the loss to A&M was that we don’t match up well against bully ball, physical teams, then we proceeded to shellack them in Knoxville by 35. So of course we can be okay, but it seems like the 1 Seed should be playing a Missouri or Vandy in the first game, and yes I know the tourney isn’t structured that way but just sayin’.😅

I know they had a letdown to end the season but I wouldn’t be shocked to see Florida make a run to the championship. I want a rematch with Kentucky though. Rubber match to settle the season series with them.

I would prefer to play MSU in round 1 than Texas A&M. I think the revenge factor is strong with this team, and MSU has lost 4 straight.

LSU winning would make our first game easier, but if we played MSU we would have a chance to pick up another Q1 win.

Definitely a good point on the Q1 pickup opportunity.

Nope, win all of them. This is the year to get the sweep and then go for the gold. I believe they will get four days rest and then play a team that should allow us to give the second five a lot of playing time. GO FOR IT ALL!

You sir are correct. Barnes has a terrible post season record vs regular season. He needs to win it all again.. If you win one and lose the second playing all the starters then I think you are on a bad trend going into the NCAA.

You win them all no question about it. You can refresh your body a lot easier than trying to refresh your confidence

Has anyone said how for Tennessee must go to keep the 1 seed. I have a feeling they are really trying to give it to North Carolina

Nobody knows for sure, it could already be decided and we are the 1 regardless and the conference tourneys mean nothing, or could be whoever wins more games gets it, there’s no way to ever know for sure what the committee is going to do each year.

Lots of people have said how far Tennessee needs to go. But no one knows.

I do believe Arizona is out of it and it's between us and UNC only. My opinion is that we need to at least match UNC in the conference tournament. Having said that, I don't think the committee has ever watched or cared about a game on Selection Sunday unless a bid was at stake. So that would be interesting if UNC won their championship on Saturday and we played for our championship on Sunday.

If UNC gets the 1 seed, my guess:

West:
1) UNC
2) Arizona

Midwest:
1) Purdue
2) Marquette

South:
1) Houston
2) Tennessee

East:
1) UCONN
2) Iowa State

If we get the 1 seed...

West:
1) Tennessee
2) Arizona

Midwest:
1) Purdue
2) Iowa State

South:
1) Houston
2) Marquette

East:
1) UCONN
2) North Carolina
